Weird noise from Hard drive

can't hear that really well but is that repeating with like a few seconds interval? if yes then sometimes it is caused by incorrect power to the hdd(that was my case)
but if you're sure that power is correct then the metal disk inside has a scratch. and that could cause failure. if i were you i would backup my stuff immediately

The power cables are fine, I also tried switching the SATA cables. And I have already backed up.

Sadly seatools apparently doesn't show any drives on windows 8.

Would a complete format of the drive make a difference?

Could anyone recommend a software like seatools which may work on windows 8?

Formatting may even damage ur hdd completely or it may even solve the problem. Try this as a last resort ( which i think u only got)

Run HDTune Pro and check for bad sectors. As hamid said formatting should be kept as last resort.

    did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!
