Hello everyone.
I bought a Note 5 not too long ago and unfortunately I can't update it. It's an AT&T variant and currently running on Marshmallow (Android 6). I previously had a Galaxy S6 running on Android 7 and it was really good. I searched on the Internet and found out that OTA updates won't work since I'm not in the US. I did find that I can flash the nougat firmware update using Odin but it's risky and can brick my phone.

If someone had done this before, would appreciate their help..
Thanks

Flashing through Odin is not risky and can not brick.

It's really hard to brick Samsung phones.

If you've got access to a Nougat firmware for the 920A, flashing it is very easy.

Please explain this?
what does the following mean?
home binary?
OLD model example thing in the picture?
User Data option?

Also will I lose my data after the upgrade?

Older phones (S6, and maybe Note 5) had the entire firmware package in one file.

Newer phones have it in 4-5 separate files (BL, AP, CP, CSC).

If you just have one firmware file, add it to the AP tab.

User data option is there for some US model phones, if your firmware comes with a user data file, you can include it, otherwise it is not necessary.

Your data will most likely be wiped in the process, so you should definitely take a backup.
