Windows Vista is old news, and Microsoft has already begun preparing for the upcoming wave of innovation. The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2007 (WPC) was the stage where the Redmond company showcased its line of products designed to be situated at the core of business strategies next year.
In this context, Microsoft underlined the role that its upcoming wave of server products will play in 2008, building on the foundation created by Windows Vista and the Office 2007 System. Along with Microsoft's forthcoming server solutions, the company also focused on the business process management (BPM) products along with its security technologies.
"The ongoing momentum of the Windows Vista operating system and 2007 Microsoft Office software license sales, combined with the full slate of new server products due to ship next year, creates a wealth of opportunity for Microsoft partners in 2007 and 2008," said Allison L. Watson, corporate vice president of the Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft.
"Our People-Ready Business vision links a company’s people to making a difference in business outcomes, and this difference can be amplified through great software," said Simon Witts, corporate vice president of the Enterprise and Partner Group at Microsoft. "Our partner network plays an important role in helping our customers achieve this reality, and is now seeing real opportunity to help business leaders and IT teams deliver more value through the application of Microsoft software."
Kevin Turner, Chief Operating Officer, Microsoft Corporation offered a unique view over 2008. "I see one thing in FY '08, I see money. I see monetization. I can smell it and hear it, see it, okay, because this is the year that we're going to monetize that innovation," Turned said, pointing to the availability of Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, and Visual Studio 2008. All three products will be launched at a joint event on February 27, 2008.
