VIA's newest CPU addition, most commonly known as Isaiah is ready and officially announced as VIA Nano CPUs. These little 65nm processors are pin compatible with VIA's C7 line and should bring better performance per watt on its 63.3 square mm die size, with idle power as low as 100mW!!!
VIA has prepared five Nano processors with a maximum TDP rated at between 5 and 25 Watts. The three of them will be part of the U-series aimed at small form factor desktops and ultra mobile devices. The other two will be a part of the L-series which are targeting at mainstream desktops and mobile PC systems.
As you can see from the table below, the ultra mobile parts known as the U-series will range from 1.0GHz to 1.3+GHz with a maximum TDP of 8 Watts. The desktop parts, dubbed the L-series will be available in 1.6GHz and 1.8GHz flavors with a maximum TDP of 25 Watts.
The 64-bit Nano's will have an 800MHz FSB and 1MB of L2 cache, so it will be rather interesting to see how will VIA's Nano influence the whole Puma vs. Atom situation. The price of these five Nano CPUs will be available when VIA introduces these chips in Q3.
pretty impressive numbers, what do u guys think???
