Hey,
Need some suggestions regarding used phones in Karachi for around 17k. I've seen Google Pixels sell for as low as 16k, anyone got any idea why? Surprising since the Oneplus 3t still holds its value well above 30k.
Currently im looking out for Z2 Play, what do you guys think? Any better choices at this budget? I dont game, just need a phone that lasts and has a good camera with acceptable performance.

Pixel one is selling for 16/17k because its kinda old, u can also get a used galaxy s7 in your budget.

just check whatever phone you buy should have the IMEI approved by PTA and if buying S7 make sure the back glass has the same IMEI as the phone itself if it doesn't ask the seller buy and if you are not satisfied with his answer maybe the set is repaired or refurbished etc so try to avoid devices like that.

One Plus 3T is probably expensive due to its 6gb ram and dual sim functionalities.

The S7 is pretty old at this point. I dont mind getting it, but i've heard the batteries of these phones are almost near dead. The Pixel seems like a good deal, anyone has any experience with buying it in 2019? Any known problems?

The Pixels will have the same issue as the S7. Their batteries will have also deteriorated a lot.

Finding replacement batteries for Pixels isn't going to be easy either. Neither is the process of disassembling one to replace it.

Plus, old Pixels usually have many problems, burn-in, dead microphones, randomly dying and so on.

The S7 isn't perfect either. Dead headphone jacks, worn out batteries, black spots / pink line on the display.

You're better off buying a brand new phone with warranty.

3Ts can't be holding their value over 30k. Whoever is asking that much is crazy. They're available here in pindi for between 22 and 26k depending on condition and which shop you buy it from.
If you absolutely have to buy an old flagship, 3T is the way to go.

I too had been looking for a phone in that range for my mom.
Due to the same reasons mentioned above I ended up buying a new phone (vivo y91c) for 17800.
I had never bought vivo before but everyone in the market had nothing but praise for the brand so I decided to try it.
In the end it was a good buy.

Thanks for all the suggestions. My budget is strictly 17k, I might get a brand new phone after a year or two, but I need something that will hold up till then. What do you guys say about Motorola phones? Moto Z2 Play, Z2 Force, G6 etc. If not, I might as well get a S7 with the most clean condition I can find.

LG perhaps, G6, V20 but finding one without issues is a difficult task .. I am using S7 these days and have to say its camera is still amazing. Z2 force is promising but it will be refurbished for sure.

Redmi S2, Redmi 5 plus used in remaining warranty.

I would've gone with LG G6 but I heard most of them are refurb in market, plus knowing LG and its bootloop issues, I don't really want to take the risk. The phone should last me for at least an year or two.

And can I find Realme 3 for 17k? Afaik its 25k everywhere.

buy a cleanest looking s7 you can find check the headphone jack, pink line / spot / shade on screen before buying and make sure it doesn't have any issues and if the battery is weak you can buy a new one and replace it yourself its pretty easy.

In that budget in used market you can go for

LG G6
No bootloop issues here my device didn't have image retention either & not I've noticed any on LG G6,great camera good build and design the only question is if you could get a non refurb, depends on market and city you are in

Samsung S7/Edge
A good phone good camera good build worst glossy plastic fingerprint sensor gets scratched up in days(most noticeable on one's with chrome finish),Pink Line is a nightmare and older devices have more chances of getting it most F/FD's in market will be old and US variants with S820 at least in my experience weren't as good as their Exynos siblings ,often heated more compared to Exynos vairiant and even compared to other SD820 devices dont know if its the samsung kernel or Touchwiz beef with SD ever since old days

HTC 10
Also rare its more of a Pixel with HTC experience a good phone bulky yes good audio experience one of the phones with OIS on front cam good for vloggers, snapchat etc's

Xperia XZ
good display, plastic frame ,sony experience that being closer to stock make's it compensate for lower RAM

ill suggest that you look for a decent pristine G6 or HTC10 if you can grab one or go for a SD6XX spec'd phone

There are amazing phones in this realm but very rare & often expensive too for instance

I'd pick Meizu Pro 6 Plus any day over S7/Edge(Same chip and display with 3d touch) always wanted but couldn't grab one(could be my affection for flyme over most android skins always feel like trying mac OS or iOS on android)
Axon 7 stereo speakers on HTC boomsound caliber good DAC for audio
Mi Mix one that adapted the bezel less games from sharp and introduced it on flagship level with rounded corners in a slippery ceramic slab

Honestly buy redmi 5 plus for 17k used with some remaining warranty, atleast it wont be refurbished or worn out like these flagships of past. Plus it has huge battery with amazing endurance.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I might go with the LG G6, but here in Karachi, the market is full of refurb models. The S7 and Z2 Play seems like the best choice so far. I might look into HTC 10 too but tbh i'm not really satisfied with the rear camera on the phone, same goes for Xperia phones.
If someone could share their recent experience with buying and using a Google Pixel 1 I would really appreciate it.
