Upgrading CPU, Mobo and RAM

Upgrading CPU, Mobo and RAM from CPU: AMD FX-8350 Mobo: GA-970A-DS3P RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 GPU: AMD RX 480

My maximum budget is Rs. 40k. I am upgrading my PC to suit my 3D work and gaming needs. My PC is quite old and I am willing to upgrade it but I am extremely confused.

I will assume current setup will sell off.
You can get 15-16K from current combo (CPU+MB+RAM, which if added to your additional budget, will bring 55K budget in total. So, in that budget you can get an i5, non-K skylake setup, of course, second hand. A rough estimate would be 30-35K for combo, including RAM.

As for GPU, there is already a great shortage of GPUs in the market, every high end is out of stock. So, I'd retain the current GPU and wait for stock to be replenished.

BTW, What's your Gaming Resolution?

I cant sell my current setup without replacing the parts. Im not changing my GPU and my resolution is 1920x1080

Second hand i5 skylake will still fall in the mentioned budget. If you check the online user reviews, 8350 isn't far from 6600K, so in short you won't get any noticeable performance difference jumping to i5. However, AMD lacks gaming performance. If you want to gain extra boost in the performance, then consider i7 4790K, would be a much better option in this regard. However, its availability would be an issue.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
