Ultra Street Fighter IV Release Date Confirmed for Home Release

The digital upgrade and full game comes out on different dates.



The upcoming edition of Ultra Street Fighter IV gets a release date for consoles in a new pre-order trailer. The digital upgrade for the game will come on June 3 (NA PSN) and June 4 (EU PSN, NA/EU XBLA) while the full release comes on disc and digitally on August 5 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The PC versions will get both upgrades and the full game on August 8.


The digital upgrade is for people who own either Super Street Fighter IV or Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Editionand will come priced at $14.99/€14.99/£11.99. The full copy of the game will cost $39.99/€29.99/£19.99 on consoles or $29.99/€29.99/£19.99 for PC. The full version of the game will include all previously released costumes as a bonus.


People who pre-order the game will get the costumes shown in the trailer above.

5 new characters and 5 stages ported from sfxt. Character buffs and nerfs plus red focus attack and delayed wakup.

I havent played sf in ages but got the digital dlc out of curiosity. The game does feel fresh and very footsie oriented now.

An upcoming patch for Ultra Street Fighter 4 will introduce Omega Mode, a new addition to the fighting game that substantially mixes up how its 44 fighters play, Capcom announced at Tokyo Game Show today. Omega Mode changes the standard move sets and special moves in an effort to freshen up Street Fighter 4's familiar cast.



Omega Mode will be a free update to the game. It focuses on making Ultra Street Fighter 4's roster feel new rather than focusing on balance, according to Capcom Unity's Peter "Combofiend" Rosas. "This means that strong, fan favorite attacks such as Ken's Shinppu Jinrai Kyaku and Sagat's Tiger Raid make their return," Rosas said, "while other characters such as Zangief gain new abilities, like being able to combo into his command throws."




Ultra Street Fighter 4's Omega Mode is coming with version 1.04 of the game and can be played online, though only in unranked matches. Official Capcom tournaments and Capcom Pro Tour affiliate tournaments will use the game's default tuning, not Omega Mode, Rosas noted, as "the tournament standard."
