Mid March - Member contacted me to go through a non-responsive Lenovo T61 that previously had overheating issues. Hesitant initially because 1: Don't deal with IBM/Lenovo's and hence the difficult possibility of sourcing parts for them. 2: Hectic schedule/workload. But decided to go through it just because the member had been seeking advice for it and for over a span of 6-8 months via PM's. Once received and upon thorough inspection of the laptop, it was discovered the hinges that hold the aluminum hsf (heat sink fan) on to the processor and chipset weren't tightened down to specs (The member did mention to have gone through the ventilation components of the laptop) and thus to my understanding the heat had pretty much destroyed the chipset components of the motherboard, as everything else. I.e. The processor, ram were all checking out a-okay.
End March - Member was informed about the status of the laptop. Asked to give it a 2nd attempt, which was duly carried out by a well equipped techie guy I knew but to no viable success. Informed again about the status, was asked for a price quote of a new T61 motherboard which was given. The member chose not to go through with a replacement, said something about selling out individual components etc and asked for a return. Acknowledged.
End April - After getting in touch twice with the member for the collection of his belongings, It was a month later the laptop was collected from the exact same location by a respected lady. Worth mentioning, the entire inspection, the testing of components on a different setup, the repair attempt by a tech, the disassembly/assembly carried out, all was done for a zero fee.

I gave him a laptop yesterday around Defence Phase 5 KFC for checkup and havent heard from him since last night.
Mobile not responding. He was supposed to contact me for an update but didnt.
Anyone know this guy?? getting a little worried.
Analyzing it all from a third perspective. Text in bold. You hear from a guy a day before and don't the next day is enough for you to go about questioning his intentions. One day is all it takes man? Nyce.
And just a heads up, you do have to be pretty dumb to be handing over a laptop to someone in front of a food joint. Especially when you've been asked by the receiver himself to come grab a look of where he may just be at.
