I'm writing this from exerience as I have transported my PC from Beijing to Karachi ,and then I bought another PC in Beijing (Current one which is a i7 7700k with 7970 graphic cards and other expensive components ,I'm telling you so you know it works ) and transported it to Karachi and brought it back with me after 2.5 months of vacations . So here is what I did
First of all ,I kept a layer of t-shirts in a suitcase, then I spread a towel across the suitcase ,put my LED of 23" face down . Then another layer of clothes and came the motherboard with CPU in the socket .The motherboard (with CPU) was in the anti-static bag and inside the motherboard . Now I kept the ram and its original package and took the hard drive and RAM with me in bag . The PSU was in another piece of luggage but the problem was that at the karachi airport ,they asked me there is a box in your luggage which was my PSU and they questioned me about it and I told them I move my PC a lot and it is a power supply ,they weren't suspicious but just wanted to annoy .I told them I live in China and have my own apartment in China and came to Pakistan for vacations . He bought the story [emoji14] .I didn't have a chassis with me but I wouldn't suggest placing it altogether in the chassis and moving the chassis in its original packing because when I was coming to Pakistan back in 2014,I took all my parts in the place with me and threw the chassis in its original package in the container and the chassis got damaged so if there is considerable amount of pressure placed on the chassis ,since it's all metal and they aren't that welcoming to pressure IMO ,it's going to clip the motherboard from a place or two IMO . and the same can be said about the hard drive since its screwed in . the graphic card ,it doesn't really get damaged that easily . I put it in a bag made of nylon and placed it in my suitcase . It is a long graphic card but its a tough one .
Same here Beijing to ISB though,In my experience customs at Karachi then followed by Lahore question most at ISB airport sometimes scanner dont even work I have brought about 9~10 phones on single trip
A person can carry 1x Laptop 1x Desktop 1x console 3x phone's (they might have changed it).
As long as you tell them you were living there and it your own used product they can't question you unless you have two products in bag other then hand carry laptop,or two laptops ,when i brought console they stopped me thinking it was another laptop told em its my console and It was good to go ,well in these case conclusion is also depends and what type of guy you stumble upon some of em are strict some aren't
Also depends on a person's luck,Once I had about 7 phones with me 2 in luggage bag and I was so calm because I had travelled hell a lot ,but this other guy just had 3 phones and he was worried about it talked to me about it I said it will be fine dont worry (internally I smiled "he has 3 phones and worried") while I was calm on 10 end result you may ask?
They stopped him and I walk out without being questioned also depends how a person is dressed
I kept the chassis in luggage bag because I had already posted most of the other stuff prior to that and it was a good idea also went with the cloths as cushion thing, but mine were already in special packaging for clothes so they being airtight took less space and provided better cushioning
