Thinking about buying a GTX750Ti or GTX760 from AliExpress, bad idea?

GPUs are just expensive here, plain and simple.

I visited Hafeez Center, Lahore the other day and get this; even 550Ti's are going for nearly ~10k! An obsolete GPU that can only dream of handling titles such as Hitman 2016 and Resident Evil 7, two games I'm deeply interested in. It can barely handle GTA-V at medium settings, as it is.

So... My only hope is to IMPORT one from AliExpress which is practically full of nice GPUs with even nicer price-tags!

I've managed to find a reliable, reputable seller on AliExpress who offers buyer's protection too and possess a HUGE inventory of all kind of GPUs and currently; it has a nice stockpile (8,000+ units!) of Asus GTX750Ti's dual-fan which are factory over-clocked and costs only $57 = 7,600 rupees with FREE registered shipping to Pakistan, and they're flying FAST. 50+ GPUs have been sold in this week alone.

And needless to say... I want a piece of that action but I've quite a few concerns;

I hear that AliExpress packages get lost all the time, but since it's a registered mail (China Registered Air Mail) and will require my signatures; do you think there's a chance for it to get lost too?

Secondly; custom tax is only 3% on computers according to 2018-2019 custom tariff; which means I'm supposed to pay just 230 Rupees in terms of tax but... I hear that custom officials notoriously ask for bribes? Is there any truth in this rumor?

Third, how would I know if my package get stuck at the customs? Will they give me a call or what?

Thanks in advance, people. I'm completely lost and in dire need of your assistance and guidance.

Yes indeed but... I don't think new 1050 is available anywhere in Pakistan! It's out of stock wherever I look. And where it is available; the seller is asking ridiculous amounts for it.

Here, a single-fan GTX1050 (Not even Ti) is going for over 21k, whereas it shouldn't cost more than ~14k:
https://www.ishopping.pk/asus-geforce-gtx-1050-2gb-graphics-card-ph-gtx1050-2g-ed.html

For that kind of price; the least I'd expect is a 1060 with 3GB vRAM.

So... You can understand my situation.

750ti and 760 r old used cards....no better than buying used 1050 or rx560
that is the reaslity...even new card laucng at 150$ is going to get over 20k..harsh reality because dollar was allowed to rise badly :/
PC gamers in Pakistan have been screwed, first by mining craze and second exchange rate going crazy and we know it all well that in our country prices only rise they never go down.....
their is rx570 being sold in marketplace fans need to be replaced, used in mining ~~~

My friend ordered a 750Ti before the hike in the exchange rate, cost him 7.5k Rupees. He seems really happy with it. Plus they delivered it in like 11 days as well.

Bad idea. with the way every govt. department is trying to increase their revenue, you might end up paying custom charges equal to the actual value of the card.

I suppose it would be gamble plus, the steep dollar will increase the actual cost than finding/buying locally. So I'd suggest stay local.
Alternatively, as other member suggested, you can spend effort on finding a used GTX1050 because it's new and a better value for product.

First thing, It will not be delivered to your home. When you get tired of waiting you will go to the post office asking about it, and the will ask you to pay custom and bribe. And if they will find any interest in your thing, they will deny that your thing arrived in Pakistan. Secondly if you are worried how the product is going to be, WATCH THIS VIDEO.

Go for it. There is never any duty and packages rarely get lost.

(I am NOT being sarcastic. This is my experience)

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
