They did place a black box on the pole which is like couple of feet away from my home. What is the idle RX power level? I did send them a screenshot, they too said something about the power and they said they will send over some guys to fix it. Also according to the tech guy this is currently EPON not GPON but they will shift it to GPON.
I don't think EPON carries the same huge amounts of data as GPON, technically GPON is a waste in Pak since most ISPs don't even take full advantage of FTTH and they only offer pathetic packages like 30 Mbps.

RX should also fluctuate, but by +/- 1 dBm. I have around -21, sometimes -22 dBm RX normally.

Black box on the pole is the fiber splitter.

Welp my RX doesn't fluctuates at all, its like static. Some times i do see a variation but its too small about 0.2-0.3 dBM at max. So i should ensure that its below -22 when they come to fix it. Also it was like -30 a few days ago and it dropped to -26 ish.

Their main line will be 800 mbps only, currently they have mere 50 mbps bandwidth in total. They are supposed to get the bandwidth in like 10 days. Also i agree with you our speeds suck. What even sucks more is their packages man, 4 mbps for 2400. I talked to the guy who owns this startup, he said it is costing him 4000 Rs for a 4 mbps connection. I dont know how much truth there is in his statement but i feel like i should stick with these guys so atleast PTCL places some God Damn MSAGs in our area.

Don't ask for -22. It's different for everyone, depends on their distance from the FDH and whatnot.

-26.5 is too low, so they'll adjust it accordingly.

-30 is even worse, I'm surprised it was working at all.

Cool, I will let them do their thing then. Thanks again for helping me man.

Edit:

Oh, BTW do these pings look fine? Or they are on the higher side as well?

They're slightly higher than usual. Were they done over WiFi or a wired connection?

Can someone tell me which ports are blocked by PTCL? I need 443 or 88 & 8443.

Trying to set a host Let'sEncrypt Reverse Proxy Server at home using Docker.

Not sure about 88.
443 is most likely blocked.

8443 should be open, I remember using it in the past for remote access.

Hello. Today -just an hour ago- i was told that my copper line number/broadband has been upgraded to "optic fiber". They have also told me what my new upgraded number is. However when i came home not only the internet is off but when i dial any number from my ptcl landline it says that "services have been disconnected due to non payment of bill" SO I CALLED PTCL and they told me "your previous number has been modified to a new number, you have no due bill for any previous months and you have till 24th Sep to pay the current bill and everything is working ok and fine at our end".
Any idea, is it related to up-gradation procedure? but why the msg about non payment of dues. ?
Thanks.

Most likely related to upgrades.

Weird that they would upgrade your account before actually installing new equipment.

Visit the exchange and ask someone.

Full disclosure. I don't think local exchange walay know the difference between optic fiber and vdsl. They keep on calling it optic fiber. I think it's vdsl and I know it because of browsing pakgamers various thread pages.
It's like this, the thick wire is coming straight from the fiber cabinet to phone pole. There the line man has installed the second dp box along with the older one. My phone wire was removed from the old box and connected with the new box.
The wire coming from pole to the modem is copper wire.

The linerate is for 2MB because that all my old copper line could afford. I called 1218 and asked them to upgrade to 6MB. I almost wanted to say 8MB however thought to ask it here first. SO.
Can my line (based on the stats) support 6MB and 8MB with ease?. How much bandwidth requires to watch hassle free smart tv. Thanks.

PS: why can't i post viewable image here? thanks.

It probably hasn't been enabled from the exchange yet.

You can keep emailing them or visit the exchange and ask someone.
