so something new is happening to my connection recently, i get timed out everytime while "contacting game servers" on literally every single game. Contacted ptcl to ask what's going on and "everything is fine" on their end even though i told them when i use VPN my connection goes through but only times out when im not using VPN, they are clueless as to what to do?

i'm lost, does anyone know what could be causing this?

So i was in touch with Omer shah (evp customer care) he forwarded my issue to the relevant department. After 2 days my lineman came and said that he is waiting for a call from Islamabad so i sat with him for 15 minutes showed him the issue, He said this will be handled from the backend i.e Islamabad. Anyway he got the call and asked me to talk to the guy. At First This guy seemed to know what he was talking about. But then i realized that he was just trying to make me resolve the complaint.

I showed him your results and showed him mine by doing a live tracert via AnyDesk. I told him to tracert it from his system, He couldn't for some reason. He didn't have a solid answer. He said your connection is on copper so you will have this high ping issue, I told him i can counter your argument very easily. The pings 2 weeks ago were just fine how come all of a sudden its almost 70 ms +? He had nothing to answer. He kept on repeating Fiber Vs Copper.

He then said that after the traffic leaves PIE they don't have the control over how the "routing" proceeds which was quite strange. Because i always thought the ISP controls the route. I told him if i use a VPN it fixes my issue and he then went silent again. He asked me what was my field i told him i'm a developer so he kinda knew he cant fool me much. But after failed attempts to do anything i let him go and resolved the complaint.

Also, I showed him pings to AWS servers in UK, they were perfect like 160 ish to which he didn't have answer for. Either its Stupid SMITE or its PTCL. SMITE sucks ass just as much as PTCL.

What do you recommend me to do in this scenario? Should i get in touch with Omer Shah and explain him what happened or should i take the matter to PTA?

Lol typical. They always try to wiggle out of scenarios like these and shift the blame on someone else.

PIE does have control over the route after it leaves their network, but they'll always say they don't.

At this point you can keep bugging Omer Shah and PTA both, but when it comes to extremely rare case issues like this, there is literally nobody that can fix them. They'll keep making you run around in circles and force you into closing the complaint.

When I was having issues with GPON, the so-called technical team on the other hand was asking me if my laptop supports gigabit Ethernet, and if it doesn't, that could explain why I'm not getting full speed.

i have seen ping to usa as low as 230 on copper without fast path i think fastest and shortest routes cost much more that's why routes for Pakistan traffic keep changing now i am getting 290-330 ping to usa and people in ptcl dont care about 30-50ms ping i have been complaining about twitch streaming issue they say apka intenet to bilkul theek chal raha complain khatam karain

I know :( Meri USA mein 230 ping ati hia currently in Smite better than EU Servers. Jab se PTCL ki cable kati hia yeh sara issue create hoya hia. Kuch din pheley meri usa mein bhi 330 ho gaye thi. Its PTCL's Shitting routing for sure nothing else.

Today I was unable to connect to any international server or site for some reason so I contacted PTCL and after the nominda guided me and made me do some changes in WAN service section, I lost connection to the internet and nothing was working now and after that he is like I will forward a complaint but I told him not to do so as I can contact the lineman myself but before that I decided to screw around in the settings and was able to get internet access back and international sites/servers are working now too. What could be the problem here @murtaza12. I want to know how was I able to load local sites but international sites were not working at all?

Could've just been a DNS issue.
What did you change? Hard to tell without knowing.

It was a complete fluke but I just added my username and password in pppoe_0_1_1.10 and pppoe_0_8_81 in the WAN service area and it was not working before and I was getting the 172.xxx.xxx.xxx IP but started working after a few retries don't know what it was as I never really play around with it.

PPPoE 1/1/10 is the generic default config installed on all modems.

0/8/81 is the one PTCL uses for DSL nowadays.

172.xx IP is PTCLs private pool, they assign that to customers whose internet access has been blocked due to non payment of bill, or repeated requests for a new IP (lots of restarts in quick succession).

The support representative made me remove all WAN entries and asked to add the 0/8/81 again from what I remember.

Is there anyone I could contact for asking when will GPON/Fiber come to my area? My lineman keeps on saying next month so I dont think he knows. I live near Soldier Bazaar, Karachi.
