So not only do we not have electricity from yesterday afternoon, but looks like both Mobilink and Warid are down in our area (Zong, Telenor and Ufone are still functional).

I wonder...when we'll get our electricity back. The UPS has failed, so...

Yeah it happens at my uni area when electricity goes for a day zong telenor and jazz all go down since they all share the same tower, Ufone has seperate tower and works. At my area there are 2 towers for jazz at same distance one behind colony and one right in line of sight, one of them has solar power system so it's always on.

I have always wondered how Jazz and Zong 2G & 3G have exact same signal strength in my area.. I think it is because they are sharing towers. So, today I put in my Jazz sim to check their 4G bandwidth its still 5 MHz from same old Warid tower.(time will tell when will they upgrade it) No speedtests, I don't want to subscribe their package for taking a 5Mbps speedtest.

2G and 4G are working fine, the latter is still on 5 MHz, but 3G signals aren't visible and phone automatically switches to 2G if you make a call, just like Warid used to be.

At my end, 4G is showing up now and then (probably because Warid's tower hasn't gone down completely, or they added a backup generator to a backup generator), but calls? Nope. Mobilink is dead.

Telenor and Zong are still showing up in the network searches.

I suppose it's the electricity wires that were severed during yesterday's windstorm.

Strange then how 3G doesn't work for me, possibly from a different tower then? I dunno but I hope it's not just a power outage and they're actually doing something that benefits us.

Get Telenor used wingle from OLX and get it unlock. Unlocked 4G wingles available in market are expensive and I highly doubt those support Telenor 4G band 5. Zong wingles also do not support Telenor 4G band 5 and since you want to use Telenor so its better to get one of Telenor. By unlocking you can use that for Zong and Jazz as well.

Switched to 2G only. Tried making a call, used EDGE as well and it works fine. I'm in Safari 1 right now which is even closer to Gulrez. 2G/3G/4G working well now.

It's probably area dependent again, they will slowly rollout 10 MHz 4G and slowly change name to Jazz and force all users to connect to that, including Warid.

It worked in between, then disappeared again - maybe they're rebooting their towers, but because it probably runs Windows 95, it's taking longer than usual?

Interestingly, 3G seems to connect far quicker, and in the room I am, 4G won't connect (even though 4G previously worked in this room).

I wonder if these guys are onto something. They better be (considering I have a contact who put me on their employees package, so I now have free data and 6000 SMS - I don't text anyone, and can't seem to use a lot of data anyway, but I pay for calls, and I don't want to port out of Mobilink simply because Zong's coverage is better in most areas vs. Mobilink).

Edit: [MENTION=42544]murtaza12[/MENTION], if you're standing right outside Reliance Hospital in Phase 4, Mobilink 4G works very fast! I think the tower is next to Arena, but I'm not sure.
