Do you mean MNO?
Operators yes. My bad.

- - - Updated - - -

Disappointing number of off-net mins, especially considering Jazz has the worst calling rates ever.
I have 200 off/on-net, 5GB data and 1500 or so SMS for 500PKR. Isn't that bad, is it?

- - - Updated - - -

SMS delay issue is common here in Wah Cantt also even with google signal strength.
Not really. If I'm in the right spot (my room), I get all messages instantly.

still it is very good deal, for a month you are getting 20gb data and 250 other network minutes, in 1250 but you have to renew it every week, which may be a pain in the Ass

True, it's very inconvenient that Jazz doesn't have auto subscribing bundles yet. .

In my experience if the group of people is smaller than 10, the network won't do shit. They're very laid back about coverage issues if it's only affecting a handful of people.

If you can get a large number of users on the same network complain to them about coverage, then they do take it seriously.

What about sending messages? I have no issues with receiving texts either.

This happens a lot with Jazz, I'll send one text, then get a reply, but when I want to send a reply to that, it takes forever. It doesn't show a timestamp on the messaging app and it just keeps spinning and saying 'Sending'. Sometimes takes up to a full minute to actually send.

I'm sure I can get a few real and fake people to complain. We also have a Jazz employee who is affected.

The package is monthly. It's new. Don't remember it's name though. I think it's called Monthly All-Rounder.

Replying etc works fine.

One question. Is there some service code which allows me to choose which network type to connect to? Settings has an option for all, 3g only and 2g only. I want a 4g only option because I've discovered that the 4g signals comes in some other rooms too and works, but the phone automatically switches to the stronger 3g.

4G only doesn't exist because it would kill your ability to make / receive phone calls since we don't have VoLTE.

You'll have to find one of those apps from Play Store that opens up the hidden network menu and you probably would be able to change it to 4G only, but not sure if the phone would switch it back by itself.

Yeah already found one (someone mentioned it on xda). I have set it to LTE only.

Aaaaaand you're right. I just tested.. Can't make a phone call :tv:

I have a ZONG sim (Also have Jazz and Ufone sims in my house).
The bottom floor of my house only gives 2G signals. At the very end of my house, I don't get signals at all.
I miss a lot of text/calls where I usually sit due to shitty 2G signals or no service at all.

The 2nd floor gives 2-3bars of 3G signals usually throughout the house (Zong and Jazz). I've seen that Ufone has a solid 3-4bars (Even though Ufone has 3G only).
When PTCL didn't work I literally left my phone on the roof to get 4G signals (Usually 2-4 bars and a solid 10+mbit speeds) with my wifi hotspot turned on.
There is a general issue with connectivity in Wah Cantt. Especially in Officers Colony.
ASKnASK My suggestion would be to spend in an MBB device or something and putting it on the roof or something, like I did, to get good signals.
Unless you want to deal with ShiTCL or can live with shitty mobile internet until either one fixes their shit. Probably not happening anytime soon
I'll complain on behalf of the one jazz sim we have in our house if you do as well.

Will be moving up in the world (literally) in a couple of months (2nd storey construction ongoing) so hopefully this issue will be solved.

Also, I haven't bad many issues with PTCL in the past. I'm hoping fiber will be stable.

Along with Network Signal Guru, You need a Qualcomm based rooted device. For Mediatek SoC you can check without root by the help of Network Engineering Mode app by Mediatek
But I believe you are using Hi Silicon based Huawei device. There is nothing you can do about it.

Do these 4G devices (MBB?) have better reception than phones?

My phone has these stats on the LTE I'm usually connected to:

RSRP: -104
RSRQ: -12
ASU: 37
Power: Fluctuates wildly (20-70)

Depends on the MBB. Some have crap reception, some are significantly better than phones.

You can also get external antennas for some MBBs which help a lot.

I'll be able to test a zong sim tonight. Let me know which MBB to get. PTCL walas haven't given any ETA and I need internet.
Some Huawei MBBs have external antenna options would work well for you.

Contact these guys:

http://amdpk.com

They have MBBs and external antennas as well. Place the MBB and antenna near a window, preferably on a higher floor and you should get decent connectivity.

My experience with them has been roughly the same as on mobile (Slightly better though).
As Murtaza said, Try getting one with an external antenna that you can mount on your balcony or something which should give you some solid signals.

There are also 3G/4G Routers available you may be able to use (Zong has their Bolt Ultra). The Zong router does have two antenna ports where you could plug in external antennas.
I'm not sure whether they're for extending the range for better-capturing 4G signals or the WiFi throughout the house. I also saw a Huawei 4G router online for about the same price that you could look into.
Both routers cost close to 5Krs. The benefit with these is you can hook up a pc/laptop or another router via Ethernet which would take one more annoyance out of the way (*cough* shit wifi lag *cough*)

I haven't tried the routers myself but I would love some feedback from users on their experience on the forum. I have a friend who basically has a 4G network running throughout his house and gaming for him is shit, PeeTCL isn't an option for him since it sucks). IDK if the routers have better signals than MiFi devices but if they do, along with the ability to connect to the router via ethernet (Throwing away any wifi related ping issues) gaming on 4G would be a pleasant experience for most people. If the router gave 3-4bars of 4G where users would normally get 1-3bars.

Edit: It seems the Zong Bolt Ultra router does support external antennas. In fact, it supports two of them at the same time. It has ports in the back for the antennas.
Now if Zong didn't willingly lock out any options in the firmware to use the external antennas... all should be good.
