ok I have a strange problem here, I have tried to search PG but couldnt find any thing so I headed towards nvidia forum, I stated my issue there and wanted to share the same with you guyz I might get help from any one of you as well.

I have been using the same spec PC since last year or so ( i will right my PC spec at the end) and I never had such problem but recently 3-4 days back I started my PC and opened my WoW client after some time it started to get video glitches when playing WoW, bit of terrain disappears or flashes, the whole game stutters every now and then and of course sometime the whole screen goes black, sometimes it recovers others it will just diplay weird colours and shapes all over the screen.

when I port back to my desktop I see

ps: this picture is taken from a website and not of my PC, I'm in office so cant put my PC error pic here.

at first I thought my GPU is faulty and its happening due to over heating I checked the heating it was at 60C during game. I opened it and put new thermal paste now its giving me 36 to 40C but the problem is still there.

any advices how do I resolve the issue.

PC spec:

Dual Core 2.6Ghz
Intel D965GCNL
1GBx2 kingston
460W PSU
9600GT

If none of the above suggestions work than try following:

1. Remove your existing display drivers.
2. Restart your system
3. Use driver sweeper to clean nVIDIA driver registery files.
4. Shutdown your system.
5. Remove your graphics card from the slot, clean your system (if required) and then reseat it. Sometimes, dust can cause these issues.
6. Install latest drivers from nVIDIA or the version which worked best for you.

If the above 6 steps do not work than:

7. Remove your RAM sticks and reseat them. Or try spare RAM modules, if you have them.
8. Try a new display cable (if you are using an LCD).
9. Format your windows and do a fresh install.

If even the secondary 3 steps do not work than: (last resort)

9. Try a new PSU. Your existing one might be malfunctioning.
10. Check the processor.

You can also check some possible solutions here.

tried the driver sweeper, and I think that actually worked till now, my GPU is stable since yesterday, now what I need to know is if I should change my GPU before it die or its just fine for another 6 months of gaming.
