Dear All,

I was surfing the internet for 4k LED TVs with Dolby Vision & HDR10 functionality and came across three names Vizio, Phillips and TCL. In TCL they launched C series and P series in 2017 which supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 technologies. In Pakistan, TCL selling their C series and P series but they didn't mention about Dolby Vision. I have tried many times to contact their technical support officer but no one picking up the phone. Anyone tell me that TCL selling these 4k LED TVs (C & P series) are actually support Dolby Vision ?

Are you sure the new series have HDR 10 ? These new tcl TV's have upscaling issues. Anything below 1080p is mediocre. What is your budget ?

Just got the new TCL 4K 43 inch for 56k from Metro. My initial intention was to get Changhong Ruba 43 inch for 35k. After doing a survey to check out other brands, there is a light and day difference for 1080p video being shown on 4k television and 1080p television. I did not expect any difference and believed 1080p image going to a lot more crips but I was WRONG.

The picture quality is amazing on 4k monitor even if the content isn't 4k! Plus TCL UHD LED screen have a modern metallic look, went for them.

P2 UHD 43inch. I don't know what's up with the TV but playing a movies off the torrent which are encoded at 1920x800, using software decoder the video scales perfectly as "fit horizontal' does what it's expected. But using software decoded like we all know tax the system a lot and lags sometimes, so best choice is to use hardware decoder. Issue I'm having hardware decoder is that it completely filled the screen and ignored 'fit to horizontal'.

It's been bugging me for past few days and haven't found any work around. I have Kodi 15v on it which managed to play in software decoder mode and doesn't lag whereas all the other plays, software decoder lagged. The strange thing is on Kodi 17, the software decoders runs horribly.

Only if I'm able to find a hardware decoder which a fully functional fit to horizontal or proper aspect ratio [forgot to add, hardware decoder completely ignore aspect ratio while software decoder does it correctly], will my mind be in peace. :(

Hi, I don't have PS4 but HDMI do work. I'm able to output pure 4k resolution from my computer. Works great. HDR is not supported via HDMI on this model and I'm not sure if PS4 even outputs HDR. But via USB, HDR works and I was able to enjoy 4k Planet Earth in 10bit Color HDR mode, it's glorious.

The movie we download from torrent for our case say 1080p version aren't really 1920x1080p. A video file which is 4k is twice 1080p which doesn't cause any weird transform when scaled. But the issue is those 1080p movies are at 1920x908, not 1920x1080. They put the video at 908p because they crop out the black bar which takes up unnecessarily space when the file is encoded. To view this file properly without any distortion, you need to have the video to "Fit Horizontal" as in you want it to full occupy 1920 pixel across and CENTER it on the screen to compensate 908 pixels when there should be 1080 pixels. In SOFTWARE DECODER mode, this works perfects as intended but in HARDWARE DECODER mode on TCL, its doesn't really work from what I've been trying to do. It's stretches 908 pixels into 1080p. So the video file looks distorted. But you get a little use to it when into the movie but at the beginning, it's annoying.

HDR via HDMI is not supported as per specification. Youtube works well, 1080p streaming no lag or stutter. Haven't been able to stream Youtube at 4k. Haven't found any option as the Smart TV interface works at default 1080p.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
