Suggestion on Buying a Good Headphone in 2-3k price range

I am thinking of buying a good sounding headphone for music listening and movie watching been using a4tech mk-650 for a long time and wanted to get a better one. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Bro place this one thing in your mind before getting a new headphone, in my opinion, you should invest in a sound card, something like the cheap xtreme music series by creative before getting a new headphone set. Next upgrade the headphones.

If you're more confused after reading what i just said, here is what i mean,

Step 1 : Get a cheap, but good, sound card now. (SB0670 or SB0460. Can be found as low as 1200.)
Step 2 : Get a decent pair of headphones. I recommend the Sony xd200 which some members here claim to have seen as low as 2200. (though the last time i checked with sony it was ~3100)

Well thanks for the suggestion but the thing is that i dont use the desktop anymore have a macbook which i think has a decent sound card built in.
Any suggested place to get the sony xd200 in lahore??

Sony Centers. Theres one in Cavalry, One in Defense (i think), One on the liberty chowk, one on jail road aswell i think(not sure if its only a service center)
BTW, do Macs have expandable PCI lanes? Because if it does, IMO you should consider upgrading the soudn card. No matter how 'decent' your onboard card will seem, after a dedicated sound card, you'll think it was crap

i do agree that having a sound card would be wayy better but its not possible with me . N thanks for the location of sony centers i will check them out tomorrow inshallah

And it would be better if you can call and ask them for availability beforehand. 042-3575 706 is the number for the liberty one, or atleast used to be. If its not, you can check with inquiry (1217)

Also, pay a visit to the Bose center at H block, Defense, if it suits you. (btw, where do you live?) They may be a little out of your budget, but its worth it. I dont know if they still have those 5k range walay earphones.

i live near samnabad but going isn't a problem as i go daily to cantt n Defense is next to it. N again thanks for all the help.

The bose center is something around 18 minutes away from cantt if you enter from Sherpao side. But oh well.
