[SOLVED] Suggest me a good and reasonably priced wireless device.

Me and my two neighbours (our walls are common and houses are right next to eachother) are sharing PTCL internet, look at this drawing

House - A has PTCL router, I live in House - C and I got a TP-Link router from a friend which I am not happy with. It never connects the first time, if it does it says no internet on phone and the yellow triangle on Windows. I connect to another network and then connect back to it to solve this problem. Sometimes this doesn't work and I have to cycle the power of my wireless device.


I want to buy a good wireless device which has an ethernet in and turns it to WiFi. What are my options? Budget is around Rs. 2,000

Try to upgrade firmware of your router.

Something similar has been done myself. My cousin is using my ptcl dsl service for a quite a while now. I gave him my modified tplink router with a Gargoyle custom firmware. After setting it up. It hasn't given any issues at all. Installing custom firmware is a very simple process. You just need to know the model and its hardware version(v1,v2 etc). Now what I did was that I used the tplink router as a wireless repeater. So it catches the signal from my dsl and then repeats it. This is by far the cheapest solution. Though setting it up is a bit difficult process if you're a newbie

I have been used many TP-Link devices and never faced such issues.. ur device may be either faulty or it can be ISP issue.. may i know ur tp link model u r using ?

well i suggest u to buy "TP Link 841hp" (if u may extend ur budget around Rs 4500 approx) because u and ur friends are sharing network to each other and said router has good wifi range... otherwise u can visit galaxy/czone sites and choose any router under ur range...

There was a problem in the settings of the TP-Link router. I got help from a friend who works as a Network Admin. I was trying to extend the same (192.168.1.1) network by plugging the incoming cable to any of the yellow ports but he suggested me to use the WAN port and make another network (192.168.10.1).
