I will be terminating my PTCL 12Mbps services pretty soon and will be opting for Fiberlink 35Mbps or Storm-fiber 30Mbps connection, I needed to know am I making a wise decision ? Because few of my colleagues have informed me that it's worth having Fiberlink connection but internet downtime will irritate you since their internet is most of the time down due to some maintenance and such.

Is internet downtime in Stormfiber and Fiberlink a common problem ?

I need quick replies since I have to decide till tomorrow.

downtime with storm fiber are very rare, i have had three in these six months or so and all three times they were caused by K-Electric people fucking with the fiber, they used to come for their work and used to cut all other wires including the fiber

Iv had sf for more than 3 months now without any issues. Pings have been amazing. Though since the past few days pings on all servers are extremely high.
Called them up today, and found out that its a backend issue from transworld. Apparently transworld servers are having some issue only with latency. Everyone having this issue l pls make sure you call sf several times so that there is enough noise for them to really get on transworld case. Hoping transworld is not like ptcl in these matters.

Stormfiber update, the internet is working flawlessly but online gaming is shit, I get 9 mb download and 300kbps upload on ps4 connection test, really disappointed with the service. Wouldn't recommend it to ps4 gamers.

Has SF's service improved now or not ?? I have ordered SF 15mbps in Garden Town Lahore and waiting for their team to install it on my premises. I would stream YouTube videos ad Twitch maybe and might play online games on PS4 too. I hope SF will not disappoint me.

Youtube streaming is sublime, havent tried twitch, online gaming is okay, not too happy about it, same as ptcl 4mb.

i have been facing very high pings since past 3 weeks now.. even on asian servers im getting more than 200ms ping.. it was good and i was getting around 60ms ping .. but not now..

on ps4 99 percent of the time the approx down and up is wrong so dont judge on that why wont u recommend it to ps4 games? what games are u having ping issues and how much ping are u getting

Which SF Package you're using ? It could be a backend issue on SF's premises, other than that, I don't think so that they would have any issues like PTCL. I hope atleast in some sense, SF will be way better than PTCL.

I wouldn't recommend getting a connection until they either invest in their infrastructure or get more bandwidth capacity - whichever helps their cause.

Very disappointed with a company which could've been the best out there, but instead chose to be amongst the worst :<

Wait you ordered SF and disconnected it ??? I am new to this Fibre internet stuff and I have recently ordered SF 10mbps for my home in Lahore.

I think your city is different but that will not count towards their service improvement.

What internet connection are you using, also I am getting this error that the router in use does not support ip fragmentation, may be this is causing the error?

for past two days my CPE has been acting up its disconnecting every 2 seconds, frustrating, hopefully it will get resolved else i am jumping ships to Transworld

It's probably not a TW issue this time as I'm getting no buffering on Twitch (max quality), Crunchyroll 1080p, YouTube 4k and any other site on Fiberlink. Fiberlink has really stepped up its game. Pings are better as well apart from the 10-20ms increase during peak loads.

Update, so I was really upset with the performance of SF on my ps4 so I kept on commenting on their facebook page and posts, guess they didn't like bad publicity so their representative called me the other day saying this was an issue from their side as the ip was clashing with my ps4, so I got a static IP which solved all my gaming problems, getting 9.5mb downloads and 1.5mb upload speeds on ps4 connection tests, the ip fragmentation error is gone and the gaming has improved considerably.

due to the fact that i'm on a 10mb package, I can only stream 1080p and 1440p easily but for 4k streaming it buffers. As for twitch I streamed it the other day on a battlefield server, It was not native 1080p so didn't enjoy it much but was streaming fine.
