Storm Fiber vs Fiber Link - Lahore (for gaming. Model Town - B block)

Planning on replacing PTCL. Looking into Storm Fiber and Fiber Link, both of which claim they are in model town.

Any recommendations? Which one would be better, is more reliable, has better pings?

Currently have PTCl which I'm replacing because event the second phone-line line I got for PTCL can't support more than 4mbps.

Hi there. I have been using Stormfiber for a month now and not even a single down time. Its very reliable and their customer service is amazing. We had some ping issues which are now solved.. Go for stormfiber if you want reliability and performance. If you want speed for little money then go for fiberlink.

StormFiber all the way. Get ready for 3 momth install time and 'link down hai' every three days on Fiberlink. Their customer support is pathetic.

Using Storm in NGT since a month; no disconnections, amazing support team, recently fixed their pings issue, and overall a very stable internet connection. Soon they are bringing in HD boxes so that would be nice, even though their cable TV is quite good.

I have been a Fiberlink owner for more than a year now. After reading forum posts and opinions for that time, I would say you should go for Storm Fiber if you want a balance of stability and price. If you want super fast speeds for much lower prices and somewhat lesser stability (a few hours of downtime per week. your experience may vary), go for Fiberlink.

Overall, I would say, StormFiber is the better choice.

I am already using fiberlink. It is very unstable. Stormfiber is about to come in my area. I just wanted to know if ptcl(already using it) can be ditched for stormfiber if it is reliable and stable enough.

Stormfiber ordered and paid for on friday. The guy came and installed in on Saturday. Lol. Wasn't expecting such a quick service. They probably already had wires crossing my house or something.

So far looks good. Haven't had the time to test latencies though.

If a few hours of downtimes a week isnt a problem for me, is fiberlink okay? As youve been using it for an year now, id better take your recommendation. fiberlink has amazing speeds at amazing price.

It is USUALLY fine for me. I do have a few bad weeks after a couple of months or so when there's a major problem (line getting broken due to construction work etc) but otherwise it's OK for me. I've had a total of 30 mins of downtime the last 8 days ranging from 1 minute to a maximum of 6 minutes in one go.

So what package are you on?? And should I pay them for the first year, as it's a great package. And what about the taxes. How much is the tax, if I subscribe to the 12mbps package that costs 14k per year.. How much will that cost including taxes?

Call them for exact pricing. They won't exactly run away with your money but getting a new connection is a head ache. They can take anywhere between 1-4 months or more. If there are existing connections in your area then it shouldn't take that long. But yeah, go for the yearly package. It's cheaper. But don't expect quick installation. Pay and forget. Call them every few days to confirm when they'll be installing it.

I am in model town (extension though) as well and I paid Fiberlink in March and I got connected this Monday (October). Their cable installation guy said they finally got fiber so all the new connections are being deployed now but since I have had nothing but excuses from them I wouldnt trust them. Pretty sure they are always late - the only difference is how late.

Speed is as advertised though there are disconnects every day for about 5 mins to an hour maybe. If you play dota the ping is about 50-90ms to Dubai and 90-180ms to SEA (think variance may be due to time of day or net being in use by other devices).
