Being a fan of both Star Wars and Cumberbatch, I really hope you're right and that he's in charge of the Sith uprising.
Watch this Harrison Ford/Cumberbatch interview on Graham Norton (excellent show btw!).

[video]http://playit.pk/watch?v=I3Og2CzpAFg[/video]

Notice how they both suddently turn into bungling idiots the moment Graham mentions starwars. and suddenly changes the subject completely.

[h=1]‘Star Wars’ Rumor: Andy Serkis Playing Multiple Characters in ‘Force Awakens’[/h]

Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm’s first official casting announcement for the next Star Wars movie – now fully titled Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens – revealed that the film’s acting crew includes motion-capture expert Andy Serkis; the man behind Gollum, Peter Jackson’s King Kong, and Casaer the ape, among other CGI characters. The obvious assumption? Serkis is playing a CGI alien in Force Awakens.

It’s now been confirmed by multiple sources that Serkis was the mysterious narrator in the Force Awakens teaser that dropped over the Thanksgiving holiday frame, though the character’s identity (be they human, alien, or something else…) remains a mystery. Now the rumor is that Serkis is playing more than one character in director J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars movie.

Serkis will appear as a human in Avengers: Age of Ultron (speculated to be the Black Panther villain Ulysses Klaw), but he also lent a helping hand with the performance-capture aspect of Hulk and Ultron in the Avengers sequel.

Jedi News‘ sources are claiming that Serkis is managing a similar trick with The Force Awakens, as one of his roles in a member of “a group of unbelievably athletic and acrobatic motion capture characters”; relative newcomers Pip Anderson and Crystal Clarke (the former being an acknowledged Parkour athlete) are reported to also be bringing those (aliens?) to life. The more important Serkis character, however, is said to be the one heard in the teaser (and is reported to serve a “pivotal” role in the film’s opening act).

One distinct possibility is a desert turban-wearing, blue-skinned, alien who’s shown interacting with Daisy Ridley’s character in the leaked Force Awakens concept art; certain elements of that unconfirmed artwork have already been proven accurate by the film’s teaser footage (see: the design of the flying desert vehicle Ridley uses). Jedi News claims that Serkis’ main role “may have more to it than it seems in the first instance” and is connected to Ridley’s backstory, so a seemingly harmless alien - who either has knowledge of The Force and/or is a Force user who recognizes “there’s been an awakening” – would fit the bill.

The rumored Force Awakens story – cooked up by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back) from an earlier script draft by Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3) – follows Ridley and John Boyega’s characters (the latter starts as a stormtrooper, as shown in the teaser) on a search for missing Jedi Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Just as this turn of events brings dark Force users out of the woodwork (armed with new weaponry), they should also draw light side users from hiding… including, perhaps, Serkis’ character?

It’s certainly possible but, just as there’s a whole lot that we still don’t know about The Force Awakens – like what has Leia (Carrie Fisher) been up to and/or who leads the remnants of the Galactic Empire 30 years following the death of Emperor Palpatine – there could be a vastly different answer to the question of what Serkis’ main role in the movie is. Still, the rumored role(s) for Serkis sounds as though it (or, rather, they) would be befitting of his talents; and who knows, his character could be showing up in more than one future Star Wars project…

@K3yser @manigamer apparently, Cumberbatch denies of any involvement with Episode VII. *sad*

Benedict Cumberbatch Responds To STAR WARS Trailer Speculation; Is He In The Movie?

There's a chance that he might be trolling, though.
Theres no reason he's not cast as an overarching character, since JJ knows this is a 3 part movie deal.

I still remember all those talk shows and interviews where he so meticulously insisted that he was playing a character called 'john harrison' in the new star trek film blah blah... turned out that was a load of crap.

Personally Im a bit disappointed how fan reaction is to Cumberbatch etc and how everyones forgetting that we get to see Luke leia and Han Solo on the big screen again. Esp for this current gen of nerdom who never even got to see anything close to the original trilogy!

[h=1]‘Star Wars’: Mark Hamill Discussed ‘Force Awakens’ Role 30 Years Ago[/h]

After Disney/Lucasfilm unveiled the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the galaxy far, far away has dominated the entertainment industry thanks to aspects like Andy Serkis’ ominous-sounding voice, lightsabers with cross guards, and that Millennium Falcon shot. However, many fans were quick to point out that the sizzle reel was missing something that would have made it a complete package: looks at the original cast.

Part of the draw for The Force Awakens will be getting an opportunity to see Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher reprise their iconic roles of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia more than 30 years after the trio was last see on-screen in 1983′s Return of the Jedi. Few thought moviegoers would have that chance, which is what makes the existence of Episode VII such a pleasant surprise. But the fact that it’s happening isn’t a big shock to Hamill, who has literally been waiting decades for this project to come into fruition.

While out promoting Jedi in 1983, Hamill did an interview where he first laid out George Lucas’ plans for the franchise to go beyond its sixth episode (hit tip THR). With the theatrical premiere of The Force Awakens just over a year away, the clip you can watch above is either a humorous coincidence or extremely prophetic.

Here’s what Hamill said all those years ago:

“He at one time asked, ‘would you consider playing an Obi-Wan-type character handing Excalibur down to the next generation? I said, ‘When would that be?’ and at the time he said, ‘Aww, around 2011.’”

Lucas was off by a few years concerning the movie’s release date, but it’s still funny to see that he, like so many Star Wars fans, had been thinking about what the future would hold for Luke and his companions after the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War. As far back as when the filmmaker was working on the 1977 original, he believed that the saga’s story could in fact span nine (or even 12) motion pictures. Obviously, as time went on, Lucas felt that 2005′s Revenge of the Sith was the better endpoint, but the foundation for more films has always been there and now Disney is running with it.

Rumored character details for Luke indicate that the Jedi Master will not be in the best mental state when we first see him in The Force Awakens. Apparently, he’s so powerful with the Force that he goes into self-imposed isolation, afraid of what he might do should he go out in society again. Reports that he’s slightly deranged and his intentions are ambiguous would seemingly contradict Hamill’s 30+ year proclamation that Luke will be in the mold of an “Obi-Wan-type” for J.J. Abrams’ film.

Before word of Luke’s arc in the story came out, the speculated Episode VII storyline involved dual protagonists (played by John Boyega and Daisy Ridley) embarking on a quest to find the AWOL Luke with Han and Chewbacca. Without knowing to what exactly the movie’s subtitle refers to, it’s very plausible that Boyega and Ridley’s characters discover that they are Force-sensitive and need proper guidance to harness their abilities. In that instance, placing the grizzled, wise Luke as their mentor would make a lot of sense and provide an interesting take on an established character.

Regardless of how Luke plays into the proceedings, the teaser made clear that the “next generation” of Boyega, Ridley, and Oscar Isaac are shaping up to be the focus of the new films. With the original cast coming back for (at least) one more round, it stands reason to believe that they will be involved with a “passing of the torch” scenario and help the newcomers begin their journey. Whatever that might entail, we’d have to say that the youngsters are in good hands. After all, the veterans defeated the Empire, so they can handle anything that comes their way.

[h=1]‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Actor Oscar Isaac on Piloting an X-Wing[/h]

Oscar Isaac has been enjoying a quietly successful acting career for several years, starring in critically acclaimed smaller films like Drive and Inside Llewyn Davis, but it won’t be long before everyone knows his name. Why? Well, he’s playing the title role in X-Men: Apocalypse and stars as a rebel fighter pilot in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In fact, Isaac was one of only three cast members whose faces we got to see in the first teaser for Force Awakens.

The X-Wing that Isaac is flying in the teaser is one of several ships that were built for the film, and which have been seen in leaked set photos as well as in one of J.J. Abrams’ behind-the-scenes set videos. One of the selling points of the film is the healthier mix of practical props with CG effects (rather than relying foremost on the latter), which means that the set builders were tasked with constructing iconic ships like the Millennium Falcon.

Some of my prep was getting a little ship and just playing in my room with it and thinking about the things I used to say when I was doing that,” Isaac confessed in a recent interview with IGN, where he lifted the veil of secrecy surrounding Star Wars: The Force Awakens to offer a few insights into what fans saw in the trailer. Isaac also explained that the use of practical sets and props will (hopefully) help the film look as good in 2035 as it does in 2015.

“There was just so much love poured into it and so much care. The thing is, when you rely on the latest technology to tell your story — and that’s it — that dates. It can date badly. Whereas, when you actually make the stuff, I think there’s something about that that is a little bit more ageless.”

Isaac recalled that Harrison Ford (who has a pilot’s license) actually offered to take him flying before filming began so that he could get a feel for the experience, but in the end they never got around to it. Ford told him that it didn’t matter much, since the experience of flying a spaceship in a vacuum would be very different to flying a regular plane.

John Boyega in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

Although the overall reaction to the teaser was generally positive, male lead John Boyega has been the subject of a certain amount of racist backlash to the first shot of the trailer: Boyega, dressed as a stormtrooper, suddenly standing up into frame with a sting of music. Amid the excitement about a new Star Wars was a bubble of discussion against about the “black stormtrooper” – some of which was positive and some of which was very unpleasantly negative. Boyega gracefully responded to the latter on Instagram, advising people to “Get used to it,” and Isaac (who is Guatemalan) was equally unruffled by the backlash.

“What’s great about it is, it’s like, ‘Are you a racist? Here’s a perfect way of revealing that to everyone!’ [Laughs] What I loved about the trailer too is, like, the giant middle finger of the first thing you see, right off the bat: John’s face — BAM! So it is, yeah, ‘Just deal with it.’”

As for the really controversial moment in the trailer – the reveal of a lightsaber with two additional blades protruding from the hilt – Isaac is unsurprisingly in favor of it. “I think it’s amazing… It’s so cool… If Darth Vader had one of those, he wouldn’t have lost his hand!” To be fair, hand amputation is a very real risk in the world of Star Wars.

[h=1]‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ New Character Names Revealed[/h]

As has become standard procedure for a film directed by J.J. Abrams, the mystery box has been locked throughout the production process of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It wasn’t until the teaser trailer was released a couple of weeks ago that fans got their first official look at what the director has in store; biding their time by seeing what pops up on the rumor mill every now and then.

Things have been so secretive regarding our return journey to the galaxy far, far away, that the names of the franchise’s new characters had yet to be revealed, despite us knowing the identities of the actors portraying them for some time. Now, that question has been answered by Lucasfilm in a creative manner that pays homage to the series’ history.

EW released a batch of images (head over there for the full set) modeled after 1970s Topps trading cards (which produced a Star Wars line when the original film came out), and on them are the names of the characters seen in trailer. It’s another instance of the filmmakers using The Force Awakens as a way of honoring the long tradition of their brand and continuing the “mix the old with the new” promotional style that has defined the marketing campaign thus far.

The images are pictured below, but here is a list of who’s who in the new movie:

  • John Boyega is playing Finn.
  • Daisy Ridley is playing Rey.
  • Oscar Isaac is playing Poe Dameron.
  • The soccer ball droid is called BB-8.
  • The cross guard lightsaber-wielding Sith is named Kylo Ren.

-

You’ll notice that each card has a number on it. Abrams told EW that these figures have some kind of significance, but wouldn’t elaborate from there. In trading card terms, the numbers typically identify its place in a collector’s series, but it’s also possible that their meaning pertains to the film itself. Without much to go off of, it’ll be yet another aspect of the movie that fans will debate until the truth is officially revealed.

… As will the names of the characters who are not included in this reveal. Actors like Andy Serkis, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, and Domhnall Gleeson still haven’t been seen as their Star Wars selves yet. There’s a strong possibility one of those thespians is behind the evildoer Kylo Ren (since his/her face remains hidden for now), but for the time being their roles are still undisclosed.

In regards to the people we do know, much to learn, we still have about their backstories. What does the lack of “Darth” (the usual Sith prefix) before Kylo’s name mean, if anything? Is Rey’s last name “Solo” or something else? For those who enjoy such things, there’s still plenty to speculate even as we find out more about The Force Awakens than we knew just yesterday.

In the meantime, this is a nice little treat for fans as the Internet still buzzes about the teaser. It also illustrates that Disney/Lucasfilm has a firm grasp on their product and is in complete control of the flow of information. We’ll find out what they want us to know when they choose to tell us. If the last couple of weeks are any indication, all the layers will be peeled back in a slow, deliberate process over the next year. Whenever the next reveal is made public, it’s bound to raise as many questions as answers – and make this waiting process all the more fun for it.

[h=1]‘Star Wars 7′: Mark Hamill Says He Was Hesitant to Return, Confirms BB-8 Isn’t CGI[/h]

Weeks have passed since the teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens was officially released online, and the Internet is still dissecting every frame. Thus far, the marketing team behind director J.J. Abrams’ re-introduction of the classic saga has been careful not to reveal too much information about the film’s plot, an approach that Mark Hamill himself has vocally supported.

In fact, Hamill’s much-discussed return as iconic hero Luke Skywalker was completely absent from the trailer, as were fellow franchise veterans Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. Fans have debated whether leaving the returning stars out of the footage was a smart move, and now Hamill himself has commented on it as well.

The actor recently sat down with Yahoo! Movies to discuss his voice work in upcoming holiday special Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas, and of course, the conversation ultimately turned to Star Wars. Here’s what Hamill had to say about his absence in the new trailer:

“This is about the new generation of characters; I think that’s the most important thing. It’s the opening act of a whole new approach to the storytelling. So I never thought that the stories would be – first of all, I never thought I’d be involved in it again, period. And then when George [Lucas] said that they wanted to do more, I rightly assumed that it wouldn’t be our story, because we had a beginning, a middle, and an end. This must be our offspring and the current generation, with us there lending the kind of support that Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness did in the original. So no, that didn’t surprise me. And I mean, I’m one of those people where I just think, ‘Keep me out of it. I’ll ruin it, I’m sure!’ [Laughs] I’ll show up and just ruin the whole thing.”

While some fans seem excited at the idea of catching up with the original film’s characters, it’s also generally accepted that Abrams’ film shouldn’t focus primarily on the Skywalker clan. After all, the addition of new characters and adventures is perhaps the best approach to keep the franchise thriving both creatively and financially for years to come.

In fact, Hamill was initially hesitant to appear unless both Fisher and Ford agreed to return as well.

“I said to George, ‘Have you really thought this through? Because maybe it’s not such a great idea.’ But I had a feeling, I said, ‘You know what – if there’s a weak link, if Carrie [Fisher] or Harrison [Ford] decides they don’t want to do it, there’s an out. Because it’s all or nothing. It should be all of us or none of us.’ So I was ready to go either way. And now that we’re all in, we’ll see what happens.

When Hamill’s beard for The Force Awakens was revealed, many assumed this was a visual cue that his role would be as more of a mentor to the new characters portrayed by John Boyega and Daisy Ridley than as the current protagonist, and to hear the actor describe his new look, it sounds like that may be the case.

“That is what I call my contractually obligated beard. Listen: I think they look fine on other people. It’s just not me. I mean, I never got used to it. But face foliage is almost a part of the costume. And it does bring a gravitas, perhaps unearned, but nevertheless, it makes a statement that they wanted to make, and I’m more than happy to oblige them.”

With regard to the new film, Hamill also confirmed that the little rolling droid – now revealed to be named BB-8 – that memorably appears in the trailer was done with practical effects, rather than the CGI that so heavily factored into the prequel trilogy.

“They never cease to amaze me with what they’re able to come up with, you know? I said, ‘How are you ever gonna top R2-D2, the most adorable droid in movie history?’ … And when they were demonstrating how they did this thing, live on set — because it’s not CGI, that’s a live prop — I was just amazed. They let me play around with it. [Laughs] I was running it all around at the creature shop up in Pinewood. I’m telling you, it’s an absolute delight. And not having thought that I’d ever go back there, to go back into that world, is just – I get the chills. It’s just so much fun.”

To say that anticipation is high for The Force Awakens would be an incredible understatement, but the fact that Hamill sounds so eager to delve back into his most beloved role should make even the most skeptical fan that much more excited about the new film. With any luck, this new trilogy will make good use of both Luke Skywalker and the man who plays him.

[h=1]‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’: Andy Serkis Teases New Character Details[/h]

With the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, a major chapter in the career of Andy Serkis has (finally) come to a close. Lucky for him, in 2015 alone he’ll appear in both The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, so it isn’t as if Serkis has to worry about work drying up anytime soon.

In Age of Ultron, Serkis will appear as himself – that is to say, as a human, not a mo-capped, digital creature – with suspicions that he’ll be playing an iconic Black Panther villain. And while his role’s identity remains unconfirmed, we do know he’s also helped with the performance capture for Hulk and Ultron; a no brainer, really, given the man’s experience.

But When it comes to Serkis’ involvement in The Force Awakens, we know substantially less. His casting naturally led many to assume he would provide the motion-captured performance for some CGI alien creature. There were even rumors Serkis was playing multiple roles, not so unlike his mo-cap assistance on Age of Ultron. But so far, the only confirmed detail is that it’s Serkis’ character providing the narration heard in The Force Awakens teaser.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly while making final press rounds for The Hobbit, Serkis dropped a few more hints (through tightly-pressed lips) about his mysterious Star Wars role – the first being that his vocal talents are similarly impressive, as the booming voice heard in the announcement trailer “is the character. There’s no digital manipulation. That’s just me.

In response to a question about the deliberate weariness of the character’s voice implying the character has seen plenty of action, Serkis confirms that he has, indeed, “been through some stuff.” But he was just as surprised as the fans to see his character so heavily focused upon:

“[Director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy] told me, ‘You’re all over the trailer,’ but I didn’t know what that meant. I thought, ‘Oh great, they’re using the voice of the character I play for the trailer. That’s fantastic.’ Not thinking what that would actually translate into.”

Serkis also puts to rest the rumor he’s playing more than one role, calling it “not true at all,” but is unable to comment on whether or not he’ll be recognizable on screen, or augmented by performance capture or CGI, saying “These things will all come out in the fullness of time, I promise.

These comments – combined with what we already learned from the teaser trailer – seem to indicate earlier rumors that Serkis is playing a Force-sensitive character are correct. The line referring to having “felt” an awakening and the implication his character has “been through some stuff“, for instance, could be seen as evidence supporting the theory. The voice-over is ominous to say the least, making his role as a Sith or perhaps one of the Inquisitors all the more likely.

Then again, next to nothing has been confirmed about the roles of any of the cast. A few of their names have been released, and it’s fairly certain that John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Oscar Isaac are playing the “good guys”, but beyond that, we, like every other fan, are basically still in the dark.

What do you think of the few hints Andy Serkis could give about his character in The Force Awakens? Is he a Jedi? Sith? Or neither? Will he appear as himself or through some digitally rendered character? Sound off in the comments below!

[h=1]‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Voted Most Anticipated 2015 Film[/h]

While 2014 had its fair share of hits, many spent the past year looking ahead to what’s in store for 2015. For a while, fans have known that franchises such as Star Wars, The Avengers, and Jurassic Park are returning to the big screen with new installments next year, which is one of the reasons why there’s so much excitement circling the approaching 12 months in film.

As such, creating a “most anticipated” list of titles viewers are desperately waiting to see shouldn’t be much of an issue. Fandango polled 1,000 fans on its site to unveil one of the first of many similar lists we’ll see popping up around the web in the coming days. According to the results, the movie Fandango users are most excited for is the return journey to the galaxy far, far away, with The Avengers: Age of Ultron in second place.

While the sequel to the most financially-successful superhero movie of all-time is worth getting jazzed about, Star Wars is an entirely different animal. Ever since the original film debuted in 1977, it has been a fixture of popular culture, earning multiple generations of fans. It’s easy to see why The Force Awakens would top the poll, since it will mark the first new Star Wars movie in 10 years and launch a new wave of films hoping to reinvigorate the brand.

If the reaction to the Force Awakens teaser was any indication, moviegoers will be showing up en masse. The Age of Ultron trailer was quite enthusiastically received as well, so these two topping Fandango’s poll is good news for Disney, which owns both Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios. It’s a very distinct possibility that these two event films will gross in excess of $1 billion globally, so studio executives are probably loving the fact that the Mouse House is poised to dominate the box office in 2015.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, which serves as the followup to last year’s most anticipated movie (based on Fandango’s 2014 poll), ranked third amongst 2015 releases (hat tip Variety). As the finale to one of the most popular franchises in recent memory, it stands reason to believe it will be a major hit when it plays in theaters, especially after the cliffhanger ending from Part 1. Its “low” ranking on this particular list is merely an indication of its standing in the Hollywood franchise hierarchy, which is still quite high.

Rounding out Fandango’s top five are Fifty Shades of Grey and Jurassic World. The latter is another instance where a long-dormant franchise (the third film came out in 2001) will be trying to make the old new again; and even if the reaction to the first trailer was somewhat mixed, moviegoers love getting the chance to see 2014′s box office star Chris Pratt take the lead in another tentpole project.

Fifty Shades is the only non-sequel on the list, and that can be attributed to the overwhelming popularity of the source material book. It’s the same aspect that helped David Fincher’s Gone Girl become one of fall 2014′s most anticipated releases. Even though no household names are starring in Fifty Shades, it should find a large audience when it is released on Valentine’s Day.

And just because you don’t see your most anticipated 2015 movie on here doesn’t mean it won’t be a hit. 2014′s big winner at the box office, Guardians of the Galaxy, was not featured on Fandango’s previous most anticipated list, after all. So for those of you hoping, say, Tomorrowland or Ant-Man can make it big, there’s plenty hope for you yet. 1,000 votes is a small sample size, after all.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be in theaters December 18, 2015.

[h=1]‘Star Wars 7′ Star Oscar Isaac Challenges Plot Rumors[/h]

More so than most franchises – whether they belong to Marvel, DC, or any of Hollywood’s numerous majors – it’s Star Wars that fosters the most fan hypotheses. Star Wars has one of the largest fan bases in the grand scheme of all things geeky and awesome - or maybe it’s because Star Wars attracts the most enthusiastic fans. Maybe it’s just because the Star Wars universe is wide open and thus invites lively bouts of theorizing.

This is true even – or especially - of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which has become the subject of intense speculation as it continues crawling toward its release date. Rumors abound over 2015′s most anticipated movie, most of which remain unsubstantiated, some less so, and none of which, according to actor Oscar Isaac, hold any water as regards to the film’s actual plot.

Isaac may be best known for his performance in 2014′s Inside Llewyn Davis; before long he may be better known for his work in A Most Violent Year, which has just opened in theaters. But by Winter ’15, he’ll be widely recognized as Poe Dameron, and his career will change forever.

Speaking to Yahoo! Movies about his involvement in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Isaac marveled over his Star Wars experience, from production security to his feelings on sitting in an X-Wing for the first time.

He also shared his thoughts on the leaks that have dogged the project, as well as the countless conjectures that have been made about the film’s hushed up story. Read on for Isaac’s full quote:

“I can’t speak for the cast and crew, I can just speak for myself, but for me I thought, Don’t you want to wait so you can get the real thing? But it creates excitement for it. I don’t think these little leaks necessarily ruined watching the trailer. And also, the [plot theories] that get formulated based on these things — they couldn’t be more far off-base.”

Well, he has a point. Everyone wants to know what’s going to happen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, even though we just got our first glimpse at the film in last month’s teaser; it’s an understandable but self-defeating urge. Knowing everything now kind of numbs the thrill of seeing it for oneself in a theater for the first time.

The choice bit here, though, is his line about plot theories. It’s not surprising that anyone involved with the movie, particularly a principal in the cast, might try to coyly dispel all fan guesswork; for creative purposes, it just won’t do for Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ core audience to figure out its twists and turns three hundred plus days before it opens in theaters.

But let’s give Isaac the benefit of the doubt and suppose he’s being honest, and that all the theories posed about the film to date are, in fact, totally cuckoo. Do we all really have it wrong? Have the leaks given away none of the film’s true substance? Could be that everything we think we know about Star Wars: The Force Awakens is just bunk, which, admittedly, would be a nice surprise when the film premieres next December.

Of course, it’s hard to say. Isaac doesn’t point to any specific rumors, instead choosing to brush them all aside in one gesture. Maybe this is just misdirection, or maybe there’s more to Star Wars: The Force Awakens than rumors can tell.

Star Wars: Episode 7
