Salam fellows. So I went ahead and bought an Xbox One (thanks Jshak !). The problem is, it's connected to my WiFi router, but has no internet connectivity. Although when I turned it it for the very first time and connected, it worked and updated the console+controller just fine. Now when it's all set up, and I've installed Forza Horizon 2 and GTA 5, it doesn't connect to XBL anymore. It doesn't sync game data in the cloud, and I cannot access any online services.

Here's my router+modem configuration. I should've made a drawing, but anyway.

PTCL line
|
|
|
Modem------TP-Link1(ground floor, not connected to Xbox)
|
|
|_________TP-Link2(first floor, used for Xbox)
Please note that it works fine on Ethernet (directly through the modem), so it's definitely the router's fault. But running a cable all the way to the console would be my last option. If there's something I can do to the router to make it work, that would be great. Also, I tried connecting it to a Warid 4G wingle, and the console got connected to XBL.

Pretty sure several people use this PTCL modem+TP-Link router combo, so if anyone can help me out, that would be really awesome! Please let me know if I can provide any further details. Thanks!

Try via ehtrrnet cable

He already did that. And certainly keeps this his last option as stated..

Could you check the Nat type when your console is wirelessly connected(and through cable too if possible!)..

you are using two routers check your settings there might be a conflict between two. plus check the ethernet cable running across your setup.

Are the modem and router connected wirelessly or through Ethernet?

Tried that, it works! But that's the last option since I'd need to run a long cable. Not impossible, but just a hassle and won't look good!

NAT type when connected via Ethernet (directly to modem): Open
NAT type when connected via TP-Link (which is then connected via ethernet to Modem): Moderate

I tried turning one of them off (the one on the ground floor), problem persists.

Ethernet, the modem is without any wireless capability (PTCL's FiberHome AN1020-16T)

Ethernet, the modem is without any wireless capability (PTCL's FiberHome AN1020-16T)

It's probably because of double NAT, basically something to do with network translation happening on the router first, and then again on the modem. I was having the same problem, Open NAT directly with modem, but Moderate NAT and PSN Party chat issues with router. This happens because there are two different private IP subnets, 192.168.1.x from the modem and 192.168.0.x from the router (I assume).

What I did:

Put your modem in Bridge Mode. Log in to the modem, go to WAN settings, remove the pppoe_0_8_81 thing (if you're on a fiber line), or pppoe_0_0_103 (if you're on a copper line).
Then, add a new one, set it to Bridge Mode instead of PPPoE, then set the VPI/VCI as follows:
VPI: 8 (if you're on Fiber) and 0 (if you're on Copper)
VCI: 81 (if you're on Fiber) and 103 (if you're on Copper)

Then, connect the Ethernet cable from the modem to the Blue (WAN) port of the router. Change the Network Mode on the router from Dynamic IP to PPPoE.
Enter your username/password given to you by PTCL, if you don't know them, call 1212 and ask.

Leave everything else as is. Hit save. Reboot your router. Give it a minute or two to connect, log into the router page and see if there is a valid IP address assigned under the WAN IP field. If there is, set up your DMZ, Ports, UPnP as you want, set a static IP to your Xbox One. Reboot router and Xbox.
Try connecting to XBL and see if it works.

The guide seems long and you may think it'll take forever, but all in all, it takes about 10-15 minutes depending on how quick you are.

Good luck.

Brother one other way to do is by putting in some cash.. That is get a repeater or use any wireless router if any spare lying around, use it as a repeater and connect your xbox through wire to repeater and your repeater would work as network extender on same floor as well as solution to your problem.

Thanks! That's a guide I was looking for. Will try that.
I talked to a network expert guy at work today, and he suggested that if I simply change the IP address for my router to 192.168.1.1 (instead of .0.1), and make it static, the Xbox would connect directly to the modem (I guess it must be something like this). Would like to hear you comment on that too. I'm not too good when it comes to networking and stuff, but I'll try your guide as well. I'm just a little bit hesitant on messing with the DSL modem; it's too touchy (seriously). My internet goes down even if I turn it off and back on (I know that's not possible, but I try not to mess with it too much), that's why if there's a way to mess with the router (not the modem) and make it work, I'd prefer that first. But sure, I'll try your guide before going for the final resort (ethernet to the Xbox).

I have 2 wireless routers, and can use one of them as a repeater, but that would not solve the problem, as it would eventually be connecting the Xbox to the router on the ground floor, which would have the same issues. Again, not an expert, so I may be wrong.

If your modem assigns IPs on the 192.168.1.x subnet and you change the IP address of your router to an IP in the same subnet, suppose: 192.168.1.10 and connect the Ethernet cable to the yellow LAN port instead and disable DHCP on the router, you've turned it into an access point. This works too, but I've had issues with it in the past.
However, it is even easier than what I mentioned and can easily be undone, so try it out. If it works, well and good, if not, try what I suggested and let me know. :)

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
