550 would require a PSU having +12v rating of atleast 26A while 6850 would at least require 30A on +12v to be safe. A good quality PSU having good amperage would cost you about 1.5 to 2k. Keep in mind 6790 has a bit higher max tdp (150 Watts) compared to 550 ti (116 Watts) so it might have higher temps. .

the AMD Cards also run much more cooler than GTX550Ti

^well i have read and gone through zillions of reviews about 6790 because it it's launch i too thought that it was value for money/performance but i was wrong, in fact however 'repeating the same words of a review
"6790 is the worst side of 6850"
Which means that 6790 consumes almost same as 6850 but perform much lower than that of 6850 and the price (in rupees as per local market) about 13.5-14.5K is thus not well deserve by it's potential, one could buy a used (in warranty)
460/560/6850 instead for much better results

goldendays2003. Bro you're thinking completely wrong. If you think about 1k difference then almost all cards are 1-3fps ahead or behind against their rivals but still that "1k" difference remains the key factor (to confuse people like ehm ehm).

Let's say:

GTX 560 vs. HD 6870 vs. GTX 560 Ti vs. HD 6950 vs. GTX 560 Ti DF vs. HD 6950 OC
18k vs. 19.5k vs. 21k vs. 23.5k vs. 24k vs. 25k

They all perform close to each other (like you say 1-3fps) but yet again you can see the price difference.

Remember, not all stores offer great prices like IMX and not to forget that "0.5k" is Galaxy tax. (sm1)

BRO this is just bs...i have tried this before....dont go into synthetic benchmarks and gaming benchmarks...their system r different and u wont get same fps..... u wont gain the same % fps as they do......

They use the same system and only change the graphics card

The reason why some ppl dont get the same FPS is because our systems have weak links

they use a heavily Overclocked i7 to negate any CPU Side bottleneck
plug both HD6790 and HD6770 on my PC and they will perform the same in most games because my CPU will limit them

oh nd i got 10k for the led/lcd so recommend one as well resolution atleast 1600x1200

i will suggest go for a new GPU and be relax for at least 2 to 3 years. your budget for lcd/led is too low. you can't get a good one in 10k. add some more bucks buddy.

If you can get HD6850 for 17K then i suggest you to get GTX560 for 18K.
