USB sticks have a long history of injecting virus into Computers. In 2008, a joint project by the US and Israel delivered the Stuxnet virus from a USB drive into Iran's natanz uranium. The Virus almost destroyed a fifth of Iran’s centrifuges.
A Russian researcher with the name Dark Purple has built a USB drive that destroys a computer once injected inside it. The USB stick releases a negative 220 electric volt surge into the USB port once it is plugged in.
As shown in this video, a fully functioning laptop gets shut up, getting completely defective once the USB drive is plugged in. The idea for this destructive USB stick came after Dark purple read about someone who stole a friend’s USB drive, only to find his laptop “burnt down”.
According to dailymail, the earlier version of this device used USB port to charge capacitors to-110V and then ran‘ until everything possible is broken down inside the laptop.’
