Playstation Recommendations for Old Gems

So I was just looking at my broken PS2 and realised that I wasn't able to use it to it's fullest because of my little to no knowledge of gaming back then when I was 7/8 so I decided to download PCSX2 and start playing games that I couldn't. So now I need recommendations as to what were the best games on the PS2 back then?

Do they have PS1 emus cause I think MGS is a PS1 title. And I do vaguely remember playing Tekken 5 with my friends. And can you be more specific on the FF series? Which are the better ones that you like the most?
