Salam guys i applied for 12mb VDSL recently.I am currently using 8mb ADSL with upload speed around 1mb. Upload is the only issue i have with my connection besides high pings which are not going to change in VDSL i understand. What i am curious about is if i will get 3mb upload speed with 12mb vdsl as advertised or it varies from area to area and any particular thing i should be aware of regarding vdsl?I dont really understand this adsl vs vdsl thing so any help is appreciated thx.

I dunno about VDSL but i am using 12 Mbit package (i never asked for VDSL) and my upload speed is 1 Mbit. I have been waiting patiently for cable net to be available in my area which would be within next 3-4 months and then i will finally move to it after using ptcl dsl for about 9 years.

If you want great upload speeds then cable net is the way to go.

VDSL is based on separate Channel First of all your phone will not work on Vdsl It's for Dsl only. Secondly you will get much more stable ping and speed when you compare to Adsl . It will never depend on area for speed if your line is stable you will get full upload/down speed . I'm really happy with Vdsl which has no issue and no down time , but from few days i'm getting Disconnections rest everything is fine for me . 3000 RS is installation charges with that You will get a new line and a new VDsl modem . I'M Using 20mb Vdsl also had used 50 mb Vdsl .

PTCL has started a beta testing program for 8mbps+ dsl customers . registered ppl are getting higher upload speeds around 2 - 4mbps.

That's impossible, since ADSL is theoretically limited to about 1.4 Mbps upload.

On VDSL, upload speeds are as follows:

8 Mbps / 2 Mbps
12 Mbps / 3 Mbps
16 Mbps / 4 Mbps
20 Mbps / 5 Mbps
30 Mbps / 6 Mbps

Well that sucks.
I had asked about Annex M about a year ago, and they simply refused saying PTCL doesn't offer that to non corporate customers.
Now they're testing it? After I left DSL. Stupid PTCL. [emoji23]

They've already tested annex m years back and scrapped the idea because of crappy lines lol

p.s they might be looking into it again, not really updated these days.

Are you sure the beta test is for current ADSL users and not VDSL?If so where can i apply?

Why would they beta test higher upload speeds on VDSL?
VDSL already allows for higher upload by default and you can increase it by changing your package.
