Playstation PS3 or PS4? Need advice!

Hi there guys.

I am a very casual gamer. I used to play MGS and GT4 on PS2 back in days. Then made a mediocre gaming PC and played BF2, NFS HP, COD Black Ops 2 and HAWX. Then I started playing games on my android and finished a few titles in 3 years time lol. I haven't even played a few games I bought on android. Just recently I have developed interest in gaming again. I have done a bit of research on ps3 and ps4 so need your advice.

1. I know PS3 won't be getting latest titles. But I am pretty much OK with the titles like MGSV, COD Ghosts, NFS Rivals, AC Black Flag, GT6 and BF4 and I guess these titles are going to keep me busy for next 2 or 3 years. But since these titles are available on PS4 as well, I am a bit concerned about graphics quality of these titles. I mean difference in hardware of PS3 and 4 is HUGE. How 'pathetic' should I anticipate PS3 graphics to be and how 'advanced' ps4 graphics will be?

2. Based on your past experiences, how long do you think will PS4 take to achieve a decent number of games?

3. How good is the BluRay player on PS3 super slim? Can it play latest bluray 3d movies?

4. And does PS3 support 3D gaming in full HD?


P.S I have seen a similar thread but made a new one since I didn't wanna hijack his thread and his query is still unresolved.

1. PS3 has more exclusives than ps4 at the moment. Like Uncharted, GOW, MGS 4, Last of Us and many more.. PS4 wont have many games available anytime soon period

2. It'll take about a year or so cause devs need time.

3. No idea about Superslim but i've had ps3 slim and it played 3d bluray just fine.

4.No. Only at Upscaled 1080p.

My advice is buy a used PS3 if you're going to play First party titles like uncharted,gow and MGS. Save some money and buy PS4 next year when the game library expands.

Or If you like to play only those games that you mentioned.. better to go for a jtagged xbox 360 as it'll be cheaper and you'll save more $$$.

If u can afford games like 5000+ rupees, then u should go for a ps4 at this hour.

The biggest thing I see is that you didnt mention any Sony exclusives. Are you interested, or even aware of titles such as Uncharted, God of War, The Last of Us, Heavy rain, Lil big planet, Journey, etc etc. These are some amazing games, iF you havent tried these games out, you MUST play all the exclusives at least. PS3 still has alot to offer. Getting a PS4 right now means it will be collecting dust for some time.

PS4 should be bought by end of 2014 or early 2015, after great games are out on it, unless you are someone like me, who can play Fifa and Nfs all day long. Second Son, ACreed, Tomb raider, etc wont give you huge replay ability. I am waiting for new UnCharted to come out on PS4

3. PS BluRay players have always been the best
4. Yes and No. I am aware of 720p 3D in practical gaming. 1080 3D in theory.

Based on above suggestions I think its better to go for PS3 now. I have no issues with PS3 exclusives... its just that I wasn't aware of them lol. Anyways, just a few questions left.

1. What should be the reasonable price of good condition used PS3 super slim 12gb (new one for 24k)?
2. Is PS3 super slim able to play pirated games (i hope this question doesn't violate any rule!)?
3. Can ps3 super slim's bluray player play 3d blurays?

1. Should be around 18k with a game or two, considering it's in good shape. I would suggest that if your into the whole idea of playing hacked/cheap games then get an Xbox 360. I too have one pretty light on the pockets

2. Personal suggestion go for a PS4 if u can afford the games. Its well worth the money.

1. 22k Brand new as of today..
2. Yes if you modify it through cobra ode which let alone costs 12k
3. All PS3's plays 3D bluray only PS4 doesnt.

Its better to buy a used hacked PS3 slim atm and go for CECH-21xx series. if you can find one in reasonable price.. For any assistance just PM without hesitation!

If you can afford go for both the 3 & 4, 3 for the past titles and pretty good exclusives, 4 for the new gen experience and second son is a good indicator things are looking better.
