PS3 Hack/Homebrew Discussion Thread *Read 1st Post*

Guiz anyone? I'm downloading GTA V through torrent (http://kickass.to/grand-theft-auto-v-ps3-duplex-cfw4-46-4-21-3-55-fix-t7865449.html#first). Just tell me the method of installation. I don't own a USB or portable HDD, I can use FTP and a guy in the comments says FTP is the best way. I'm not sure though. And I don't know the path for the game folder. Help?

You say that you know FTP so I wont go into details of that. I assume you're using multiman.
Copy game folder to following path on PS3:
/dev_hdd0/GAMES/
Note that following should be the structure of your GAMES folder, otherwise multiman wont detect the game:
/dev_hdd0/GAMES/Game folder name/PS3_GAME
If there are any extra folders between GAMES and PS3_GAME folder, multiman wont detect it.
Game folder name can be anything you want, I personally use GameID and Game Name as folder name e.g. BCES01584[The Last of Us]

i m on cfw 4.30 and want to play gta 5 on my ps3 but after installing the mandatory 8 gb data the screen freezes and nothing happen....i tried installing and uninstalling the game but the problem persist.
what should i do????

Hey guys, so I've been searching extensively for tutorials about moding the ps3. Now, most sites say that it is impossible to hack the ps3 with firmwares above 3.55 however, some links say that it is indeed possible to do a soft mod for higher firmware versions. Can anyone shed some light on this?

if u have cech-3xxxx only option you are left with 3k3y and ode mods. cost between 15 to 20k
if its cech-2xxx then 3k for downgrade
no other way

i just got a ps3 new hacked ---with latest rogero / multi man or what ever its called .

also have a jtag xbox --i am not a fan of hacked ps3 coz i want to play online that was the reason to get it in the 1st place ....

i also got a 1 tera hdd from market which i want to install on the ps3 ...i have also downloaded the offcial sony update .

i wana complete remove / wash out the hack as i have no interest in it ---

so if i install the new hdd and use the new update will it remove every thing ---hope i wont get banned or some thing

i plan to add a new hdd / and i have downloaded the latest ps3 update from ps3 uk website ---if i install the new hdd and install the update via flash drive , then i am sure it will come back to offcial firmware and all signs of the hack will be no more

well if u have enuff money then just updat to ofw, or want to save some bucks then sell this hacked and buy oficial ps3.

I don't get your case here. I own a hacked PS3, and I've been spending 4+ hours a day online for around two months.
There is a risk of your account/device/game getting banned, but so far nothing has happened to me.
To play online (on your own risk), sign up for a PSN account/ or sign in to one if you already have it. Go to your game and go online or whatever (I can't help you here, each game has it's own menu etc) If the game asks for an online pass (which is with the latest games excluding EA and some other companies) your only choice is to buy it (you may find it somewhere in the marketplace here), or you could get a PSN balance card (available at most gaming stores) and buy the pass online in the PlayStation Store.
