What is the difference between a dualshock 3 and a sixAxis controller? are they the same thing? Cuz I have one that says both but I've heard around that there is one that is only dualshock 3 and only sixAxis? :S

Sixaxis controllers were the 1st generation controllers (or you could term them that way), they were without the rumble or vibration feedback feature as Sony infringed patents of the company that provided them services etc etc...

Dualshock 3 came with the release of MGS4 back in 2008, 2years after the release of original sixaxis...

The only difference was that it featured the vibration feedback feature whilst maintaining all the motion features of the Sixaxis...

So that's why on a Dualshock 3 controller you will see both SIXAXIS and DUALSHOCK3 written...

Whereas SIXAXIS not having rumble or "DUALSHOCK" feature will only have SIXAXIS written on it...

SIXAXIS controllers are not in production anymore...
