PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds - This is What Cheating Looks Like on PC - IGN Video

Damn, what a horrible experience this game is becoming on PC. Probably every 4 in 5 Chinese players are using some kind of hack, and over 50% of the PC version's playerbase is from China lol. I don't have an Xbox so, despite owning a copy on PC, I'll wait for the PS4 version.

The forthcoming 'reporting during replays' feature should help a little, but it won't solve what is a longstanding problem with online mp on PC in general.

I envy that hacker-free experience. Despite looking and running worse, XBX is the best place to play the game right now.

PUBG celebrates 4M players on Xbox One with free loot cratesHow does 30,000 Battle Points sound?Microsoft announced today that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the hit survival shooter first available through Steam, has been played by more than four million players on Xbox One. To celebrate, they’re giving away 30,000 Battle Points to each one.The plan should have the side effect of accelerating sales just a little bit. Those who purchase the game between now and Jan. 31 will get the free gift as well.“Anyone who has purchased or purchases PUBG on Xbox One and has created a character before Jan. 31 at 12 a.m. PST will receive this bonus,” Microsoft said today in an official blog post. “If you’ve been waiting to jump onto the island, now is the perfect time to become a part of our growing community on console.”The in-game currency will appear in player’s accounts after Feb. 1 at 12 a.m. PT.Battlegrounds’ loot crates have caused a bit of a stir on PC over the last year. First, in July, real-money keys were introduced that were needed to open certain crates. Fan outcry prompted a personal apology from the game’s creator, Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene. More recently, the game’s developer PUBG Corporation published the odds of earning certain cosmetic items for the first time. That led some critics, including those here at Polygon, to claim the game was treading a narrow line between microtransactions and gambling.------------------CerebralTiger mwahaha Nice :) for xbone ONLY, sorry JANARIOO

Depends on the situation bruh. You can't always fight gun blazing when you are surrounded from all sides. Sometimes the best tactic is to lay back and watch others kill each other before you take the final kill.PUBG just isn't about kills, it's about outsmarting 99 other players.Camping is something that is valid for this game. We also need to take in account for lag, hackers and bad servers. Considering most of us play from Pakistan, our ping averages around 150ms which isn't ideal for a 1v1. Having had instances where i emptied an entire clip and the enemy suffering half the damage and managing to kill me with 5 bullets is a big example that you can't win every fight. I'm not ashamed in admitting that i camp more than i have to but i also have the skills to kill the last 5 people gun blazing too. It just depends on the situation and mood.

PUBG on Xbox One gets patched with dangerous vehicles, prettier scopesEvery little bit helps!Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds continues its long march toward full release on Xbox One with some small but interesting updates coming this week. The last console patch made vehicles more dangerous for drivers and passengers, and this update continues that trend. Here are the adjustments:Increased damage to the vehicle body, and significant damage to the wheels when targeted with gunfireIncreased vehicle damage when successfully targeted with a grenadeBoth driver and passenger will suffer increased injuries from crashing into objects or other vehicles (Dacia, UAZ, and Buggy)Slight reduction to player damage when being struck by a vehicleSo it will be easier to get killed while in a vehicle, but slightly harder to be killed when hit by a moving car. Good to know! The developer is also working on controller input lag as well as visual updates to the scopes. The red dot, holographic and 2x sights will feature improved visual quality, although there isn’t much detail about what that actually means. Here are the bugs that the latch addresses:Resolved issue where inventory may highlight the wrong column when lootingThe sensitivity setting for 4x Scope is now also applied to the permanent scope on the VSSAuto-run (double-clicking the left stick) is disabled when aiming down sightsPlayers can now use the D-Pad while in the map view without switching melee, pistol, or throwing weaponsRemoving the marker from the map when pressing (Y) will no longer switch primary/secondary weaponsFixed issue where the crosshair is not correctly displayed after players reconnect to a game session

[h=1]PUBG hits 30M sold on PC, but player counts are down[/h]
[h=2]Concurrent players dip while the number of cheaters banned is only going up[/h]

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the smash hit multiplayer survival game, has sold more than 30 million copies on PC, according to SteamSpy, which tracks public data toextrapolate sales and ownership information for Steam games.
But data provided by Steam’s own API seems to indicate that the number of active players has sharply decreased. So where are the players going? And what does this mean for the game’s future?
First, let’s step back and get some perspective. The 30 million copies sold number — which doesn’t include sales on Xbox One — is remarkable considering that the game was launched into Steam Early Access on March 23, 2017. PUBG isn’t even a year old yet, and the game only launched its 1.0 version on Dec. 21. So, all things considered, Battlegroundsisn’t doing too shabby, considering that its sales have yet to show signs of a plateau.
The number of accounts which own PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds as collated by SteamSpyfrom Steam’s own raw data set. SteamSpyFurthermore, the game continues to occupy the top slot as the most-played game on Steam. According to SteamCharts, which is also fed by Steam’s own data, it blew past Dota 2 in August and never looked back.
It’s mid-morning here on a Thursday in the United States. Many people are either at work or at school, and there are still more than 1.6 million people playing Battlegrounds. The game is a global success, with more than 1.1 billion hours played. And that’s just on PC.
SteamChartsBut there’s one chart in particular that is giving analysts pause, and that’s the peak concurrent number of players that log in to play the game every day. You can see it illustrated best at SteamDB which, again, draws from Steam’s own data set.
SteamDB
Battlegrounds reached its peak for concurrent players in mid-January when, according to SteamDB, 3,257,248 players showed up to chase each other around. As of yesterday the peak was only 2,177,418. Figures differ between platforms, of course. SteamCharts puts the peak at 3,140,580 and yesterday’s numbers closer to 2.15 million, but they’re going in the same direction.
So where did all those players go?
Well, it’s possible people are growing tired of the game. Maybe the influx of newer users, excited by the 1.0 version and the attention it’s been receiving in the press and on social media, have drifted away. Maybe competing products, like the free-to-play battle royale-style mode in Epic Games’ Fortnite is luring people away. That game isn’t on Steam, so there’s no apples-to-apples way to make a comparison.
Or, the developers at PUBG Corp. could be driving a certain portion of their playerbase away on purpose. I’m talking about cheaters.
The amount of cheating in Battlegrounds is nearly as remarkable as its skyrocketing sales figures. In January alone, anti-cheat provider BattleEye banned more than a million players, or roughly one player ever 2.56 seconds. January’s figure put the total banned, according to BattleEye’s own self-reported figures, at over 2.5 million.

If the rate at which BattleEye is banning people continues to increase through February, you can expect close to four million players to have been banned by the end of this month.
That’s more than 13 percent of all the copies of the game that have been sold on Steam.
Cheating is a drain on revenue in online games because it ruins the experience and chases away paying customers. The problem is especially bad on PC. That’s why companies like Epic have taken to suing the people who create and promote those cheats, even if they’re minors. And that’s why PUBG Corp. is working with the Chinese government to arrest cheaters overseas.
Therefore, it’s entirely possible that the dip in active players we’re seeing on Steam isn’t evidence that Battlegrounds is losing the interest of players, or that it needs to iterate its way out of a tailspin. It’s still the number one game on Steam. On the contrary, that dip may well be evidence that PUBG Corp. is doing the right thing and cracking down on those who are ruining the experience for others.
It’s just that there’s so damn many of them.
