i still have the gtx 460m somewhere which came with the system i originally bought and replaced it with the gtx 675m

, after upgrading to the gtx 680m i placed the 675m in my m17xr4 working perfectly.


Also Recently upgraded the Cpu from i7 2630qm to Extreme i7 2920xm as well as a bigger SSD of 240gb. just trying to get the best outta my system/

cpu changing is easy just opening laptop is difficult rest is like simple pc but i think with extreme processor u need a better copper cooling pipes. isnt that right hawk?

yes changing the cpu is very easy if you know how to teardown the lappy properly. but the extreme series does require a triple pipe cpu heatsink for it to work properly.

price was kinda high you can check ebay for current prices but it was worth it you cant get the 680m to work to its full potential without a high end cpu

no i have the 675m which technically is just a suped up 580m with a new bios performance is really the same for both gpu's. IMHO you should just upgrade to a single 680m as it is future proof and also is faster than a 580m sli setup. you will also require a 330watt powerbrick for the sli setup.

yeah cpu change was easy and i did upgrade to a triple pipe heatsink to accomodate the new cpu and also upgraded my gpu heatsink with the ones dell uses for the 680m they are 100 watt heatsinks have both sides for my future sli upgrade

I have n sli 680m ...get about 10000p score n 3d mark 11 vs 12000 on other websites ..

I wonder why this is ....either they are heavy over clocking the GPUs etc
