Current specs are as follows:
Spoiler: show
Intel I5 750 - socket 1156 LGA (lynnfield)
Asus P7H55-V
DDR 3 ram
Nvidia GTX 460

can I upgrade to latest gen processor on same motherboard?
If not then please suggest a cheap motherboard that can easily run latest gen i.e 7 gen processor and suggest that processor as well (core I5 and core I7) most probably i'll go for I5 but if I7 isnt too expensive and worth paying more then I can try I7.
I am not sure but I think DDR 3 ram will pretty much work with this setup, right?
I am not upgrading GPU. But I am thinking of buying one SSD (maybe 120gb) just to install windows, how much fast will that be?
Kindly mention the prices too. Also any idea when will be the 8th gen processor available in local market?

Also please let me know for how much I can sell the current processor and motherboard and if i go for a laptop instead then for how much can I get one with specs like 7th gen I5/I7, ram 4-8gb, 1tb hdd, any light gpu.
Thank you.

Edit
currently I have gtx 460 gpu can it run new games? and can you tell me about the mobo that supports 2 gpu, can they be any 2 gpu or they have to be cross fire specific that supports dual gpu on a mobo only

@OP

You have to tell us what you plan to do with the pc i.e gaming/work etc.
The cheapest 7th gen mobo is this one (Gigabyte H110M-H). ~6K
No DDR3 won't work with 7th gen mobo, you have to get DDR4 for that.
You can always add an ssd later try prioritizing other main upgrades rather than ssd i.e CPU, GPU, MOBO, PSU etc.
I have no idea as of now but based on the availability before, they should be available in a month or two.
The last question again depends on what you are looking to do with a machine (PC/Laptop) since you have not stated your usage requirements I simply cannot recommend one over the other as of now.

Thanks, I checked with market, Asus 110 is also available at price of 6.5k
core I7 costs 16.5k extra on top of core I5 so I am going with core I5
As for gaming/work, well I am not going for gpu so shouldnt that be clear :p haha
I am not looking for hardcore gaming setup, I may play a game or two in future but not looking for a gaming rig, just a performance PC for high quality tv shows/movies and other applications work etc.
So far this is what I got from the shop
Spoiler: show
Core I5 7400 = 21.5
Asus 110 = 6.5 ( or Gigabyte B or V250 = 9.9)
DDR 4 8gb ram = 7.5
Seagate 1 TB = 5k (my previous hdd was bought in 2010 and it may give up at any time so thinking of getting new one as the one bought in 2011 of WD started giving problems few months back)
Maybe SSD too, Kingston 120gb = 6.5

r u saying that 8th gen maybe available in a month or two?
I have dropped the idea of a laptop as I'd prefer to stick to PC after all I have a 23" LCD with it, with laptop I have to use a smaller screen where as I enjoy watching HD shows so big screen is a def +1 too.

I have a cooler master PSU bought back in 2010, btw i read there are 4 slots on this basic mobo so that means I can add 4 hard disks right?
as I'll be using the current HDD, the new 1tb hdd, and 1 ssd

gamer11 if you are not going for gaming setup or graphics processing, then why go for i5.
Get an i3 processor, save money spend on something else like better headphones, wide screen monitor, UPS or even a light GPU (it should help in video processing of high res videos)

I'll recommend you to get a new PSU instead of using that almost 8 years old psu. If your workload is light then as the other guy said i3 will do just fine if you however, intend to play games or do some work like light rendering and stuff on it then get i5 and yes 8th gen should be available in pak after a month or two judging by the previous availability. Yes, you can use your hdds/ssds on the mobo however, if you want more ports then you should look into investing in a bigger and better motherboard.

IMO if your work/apps aren't that heavy and you are not looking to game on it, get an i3, a better motherboard and psu.

I actually want to keep the gaming option there, and in near future I'll be upgrading my gpu as well, kindly suggest a gpu too that can run the latest games but is in a bugdet, my current mobo has 4 sata ports, chassis is big enough already, current psu is cooler master 600. Today I was checking my hdd, my 1tb is alive too, will test it, if it works fine then I may not upgrade the hdd but I hope these wont give up in near future.
one option of mobo is Asus 110, which other one do u suggest? and please tell me what extra benefit I'll have with that mobo as I dont know the benefits.
which psu? as for pro i'll go for i5. ram is a must since dd3 wont work.
and if I wait for 8th gen pro then will the same mobo work i.e the one i'll be buying or that will need the new mobo.

any idea for how much i can sell the current setup
I5 750, Asus P7H55-V, DDR 3 8gb ram, PSU, and later this gtx 460 gpu

8th gen will require new mobo. in my opinion its worth the wait as i3 will be having four cores and will be less than 150$.

For the GPU wait for volta that's all i'll say for now, since you aren't looking for gpu at the moment so waiting should play out just fine for you. It's really hard to recommend stuff based on rough budget so if you specified that it'll be much more helpful. As for the PSU the cheapest 80+ bronze is Thermal take SE 530W at 5.9k on galaxy. If you have any other choice do let us know and we'll see if it's good. I'll recommend you to not buy used psu and motherboard, try to grab a Asus H-2xx Motherboard or atleast a B-2xx Asus motherboard. Last but not the least, make sure you get the bios updated if you decide to go for 6th gen supported motherboard.

P.S: hopefully someone else will give you an estimate for your old system, again don't cheap out on main and important components of your PC, have a good day!

can you please clariy what advantages are there for getting a bit better motherboard as compared to the basic one such as ASUS 110
I am not going for any used thing, I dont know what is volta
and well if 8th gen is coming soon then I'll wait for it and get the latest one.
As for the budget I just wanted to upgrade to the latest Core I5 with basic motherboard and 8gb ram and the HDD, I didnt have any fixed budget in mind but I dont wanna spend too much either, lets just say if I have to get any thing else then I'll go for that thing in a budgeted price.
