Blizzard activates Cross Platform Play on Overwatch, will include all players from ALL regions, ALL platforms into ONE global pool for matchmaking. Region selection is NO MORE, even if you select EU, you might be placed on Americas or SEA servers depending upon the need to fill matches.

I have tested this for last 3 days and it's ok for now, you get placed on MES (Middle East Server), around 40-60ms ping and get mostly EU/Asia/SEA players with better Queue times than before on MES. Now, I had MES blocked on firewall and used to play on EU on 160-170ms ping coz better teammates and faster Queue times. On crossplatform MES, Queue times are not as fast as EU, or teammates are not as good as EU but it's better than old MES and ping is far better. Anyone else tested this yet?

CROSS-PLAY IS NOW LIVE!

Cross-Play is Now Live!

Cross-Play is now live in Overwatch, allowing players to group up and play together across platforms. Powered by the latest global Battle.net update, players from around the world can team up, regardless of their preferred platform*. With the release of cross-play, all players will need to make a Battle.net account and link their appropriate console accounts. With the launch of Cross-Play, everyone who logs in to Overwatch by the end of 2021 will receive a Golden Loot Box to celebrate.
Check out our resources below to get all of your questions answered.

Prepare Your Account
All console players will be required to make a Battle.net account and link it to their console (Xbox, PSN, Nintendo) account. PC players do not need to take this step – You already have a Battle.net account. Upon launching the game, you will be prompted to link your console account to a Battle.net account. Follow the steps below to create a Battle.net account, then link your console game account to your Battle.net account.
Creating a Battle.net Account
  1. Visit Battle.net
  2. Create a free Battle.net account
  3. Once you create your Battle.net account, go to your Account Settings
  4. Click on the “Connections” section under Account Settings and link your console
Linking Your Console Game and Battle.net Accounts
These instructions apply to the in-game steps console players will need to take once Cross-Play is available.
  1. Launch the game on your system
  2. Press the confirmation button to progress through the Overwatch welcome screen
  3. You will be presented with an alpha-numeric code and a QR code
    1. The alpha-numeric code can be entered at blizzard.com/link
    2. The QR code may be scanned with a mobile app to take you to the linking webpage, which will be pre-populated with the code provided in-game
  4. Log in with your Battle.net account credentials to finalize the connection between your console game and Battle.net accounts
  5. You will receive a message in-game that notifies that your account is now successfully connected

Overwatch, the team-based shooter from Blizzard Entertainment, is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in addition to Windows PC, Blizzard confirmed today. The game, described as Overwatch: Origins Edition in a pre-order promotion on Battle.net, is expected to arrive next spring.
According to the listing, Overwatch will be released sometime before June 21, 2016.

It's not clear yet what the "Origins Edition" designation means, but it could be Blizzard's way of describing the launch version of the game with a roster of characters that grows over time as new content is released. We've reached out to Blizzard for details on its plans for Overwatch.
BlizzCon 2015 kicks off this Friday, Nov. 6, where we expect to hear more about Overwatch (and Blizzard's other games). The hero-centric shooter is currently in a closed beta test.

[h=2]Overwatch developed 'from day one' to be on consoles, no PC-console crossplay[/h]

Overwatch, Blizzard's new team-based shooter, was designed from the beginning to play well on consoles as well as PC, game director Jeff Kaplan said at BlizzCon today. "It was kind of a dream of ours," Kaplan said.
Kaplan was addressing concerns that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Overwatch were ported from the PC version as an afterthought.

"When we started to make Overwatch ... it was our goal from day one to have this game playable on console," Kaplan said. "Designing the game so it felt great on a console controller almost put this forced design elegance on us," he added, meaning that they wanted the games controls to play well with a limited number of buttons.
Kaplan said that the console versions of Overwatch will come with "full integration with Xbox Live and PlayStation Network." He also confirmed that, much to the dismay of PC gamers hoping to mop up console players, Overwatch won't feature PC-to-console crossplay. "They're their own ecosystems," he said.
Overwatch is coming to PS4, Windows PC and Xbox One next spring.

[h=2]Overwatch will receive additional heroes and maps for free[/h][h=3]Blizzard teases post-launch plans[/h]

Overwatch, Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming multiplayer hero shooter game, will receive new heroes and maps at no cost to players.
Jeff Kaplan, the game's director, revealed the game's post-launch plans for added content in a developer update video addressing community concerns, which you can watch above.

"When we patch a new hero into the game, we want it to be free and not as DLC," he said.

A timetable for when the free content will start to arrive has not been set in stone.
When we talked to Kaplan at BlizzCon 2015 last month, we asked him about the studio's plans for introducing new playable heroes into the game. He told us then that the team hadn't yet settled on plans for new characters, but that the suggestion that players would have to purchase them "couldn't be further from the truth."
"It's not one of those things where we know exactly what we're going to do and we're waiting to spring it on you," Kaplan said then about bringing DLC and other post-launch content to Overwatch. "We're reading all the feedback right now and taking it into account."

As he mentions in the video, that feedback comes from the player response to Overwatch's closed beta, which began Oct. 27. The beta is still live, although it will take a holiday break starting this Thursday, Dec. 10.
The game launches on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One next spring.

[h=2]Overwatch launching May 24, open beta coming in early May (update)[/h][h=3]Overwatch for all[/h]

Update: Overwatch will be released May 24, Blizzard Entertainment confirmed in a post on the game's website. The studio also announced that it will run an open beta for the game from May 3-9. Customers who pre-order by April 29 will get early access from May 3-4, while anyone will be able to play the beta from May 5-9. The beta will be available on all three platforms: PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
Original story: A since-removed advertisement on IGN leaked the launch date for Overwatch, the upcoming class-based shooter from Blizzard Entertainment. It is May 24, according to the IGN ad.

Kotaku published a screenshot of the ad sent in by their tipsters. The ad also mentioned that another beta will be held in May, with access to it granted by a pre-order. Overwatch is currently in another closed beta.
Polygon has reached out to a Blizzard representative but it is unlikely Activision Blizzard will acknowledge anything, as a new product announcement is news that could affect its stock price.
Overwatch will launch on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. For more, see our feature about its creation.

[h=2]Get your Overwatch copy a day early at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop[/h]

[h=3]Install it so you're ready when the servers are![/h]

Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch will be available at certain retailers on May 23 — one day before the game's public release date of May 24, as a NeoGAF user noticed. Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop all have the launch date listed as May 23 now.
You may be wondering why that matters, since Overwatch is an online-only game and the servers won't go live until May 24. Here's the significance: It puts retail pre-order customers in the same position as those who pre-order digital copies.

Anyone who pre-purchases Overwatch digitally from Battle.net, the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Games Store will be able to download and install the game ahead of time. Preloading the game allows people to start playing as soon as Blizzard flips the switch on the Overwatch servers. If this were to become the norm for retail versions of online-only games, it would be a welcome trend indeed.
As for when exactly Overwatch's servers will go live, it's unclear. The PlayStation Store listing says the game will be playable at "mid-day Pacific Time" on May 24, while the Xbox Games Store product page gives a time of 12:01 a.m. ET on that date. We've reached out to Blizzard to ask about that, and to ask for more details about the retail changes, and we'll update this article with any information we receive. tho i find it hard to believe that they only have servers in 2 locations.

so if anyone knows the server IPs then pls tell me cause this game does look sick

Early reviews/impressions are really solid.

The Escapist - 5/5

These are all little nitpicks and personal preferences, more than anything. It's very clear that Blizzard has put in a herculean effort into polishing Overwatch, making sure that it feels great to play, has basically no bugs or glitches, and has a solid amount of content.
Twinfinite - 5/5

Just as Team Fortress 2 burst onto the scene and captivated so many with its charm, and accessible gameplay, Overwatch is poised to do the same with its sharp gameplay and likable characters. There’s little doubt that the next great class-based shooter has arrived.
USgamer - Review in Progress

Naturally, I need to spend more time with Overwatch before I give it a final score. I'm having a blast with it now; but it's only been out a few hours (in addition to the open beta), and there's still plenty of time for its weaknesses to become apparent. But for now... wow. It sure seems like Blizzard has another mega hit on their hands.
Destructoid -10/10

Truly, I believe that we'll be seeing a lot more of Overwatch in the years to come. Blizzard has a great track record when it comes to long-term support, and given how good it is out of the gate, it can only get better from here. Blizzard has truly snatched victory from the draws of defeat.
GameSpot - Review in Progress

From the dozens of hours I've played in Overwatch's betas, it's clear that developer Blizzard has crafted a fantastic shooter worthy of praise on numerous levels. It manages to maintain focus, despite the complexities and variety of its cast, locales, and interlocking systems. However, because Overwatch's servers only went live today, we're holding our final opinion until we've tested the game on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in real world conditions. If all goes well from a technical standpoint, Overwatch stands to be one of the best shooters in years.
Game Informer - 10/10

As the clock winds down to zero, you backtrack in time to drop a perfect pulse bomb on the enemy position, blowing apart the greedy robot-turned-turret and his teammate, a slick sniper assassin who was too busy tracking her prey to notice your explosive gift. The game heads into overtime as the payload wagon rests mere inches away from the victory point, but your team has just been annihilated by an enormous magical dragon. Then you hear it: “Heroes never die!” As your one chance, your team’s Mercy hero activates her ultimate ability and brings your entire group back to life for one last stand. After Mei brings a scientifically sound winter to your opponents by freezing them, victory is yours. Moments like these define Overwatch, including amazing victories and last-second defeats. No matter what happens – win or lose – you’re going to have fun.
Playstation Lifestyle - 10/10

With accessibility to spare, a real commitment to diversity and an infectious sense of innocent fun, Overwatch feels like an important game — the sort that can bridge boundaries in the oft-segmented gaming community. I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that this may just be the project to revitalize lapsed or disheartened gamers’ interest in the medium, or the one to bring new players onboard the FPS wagon.
