Opening new account at Barclays Bank

So, since Standard Chartered guys want to act like a b**** all the time when it comes to account opening then I thought why not go for a different popular international bank. So does anyone have any solid details regarding Barclays bank? Do they easily open accounts? Does their Debit card work online (This is a must).? What's the minimum account balance required for opening an account?

for your info there is no more barclays bank in pakistan.its now hbl.HBL bought barclays bank and from june 1 all barclays bank are HBL and soon you will see hbl boaRds on all barclays branches.even now the board outside says barclays but now its working as hbl

I have a Barclays Bank account. But just got a mail that it has been purchased by HBL. Minimum amount to open account was 50k.
