need suggestion regarding gtx 980

I have bought msi gtx 980. currently I have cm 600 psu, it is 36amp. will it run my gtx 980 properly without any issue. I was using r9 270 before.

Officially, 980 Requires 500W Power for system.

980 with full system Stress won't even crosses 450W mark. You already have enough power to run system under heavy Gaming. i assume your current PSU is 100% functional, and nothing is tripping. it will work good then.

However, i will suggest you to upgrade your PSU to better brand+quality in near future. Look 600w rating on PSU, but actually it won't even delivering 500W, after calculation it max drawing output for Full Rig is 432W, which is below standard if you compare with others CM PSUs arient' the good ones until Silent pro. With any increase in power consumption, let say overclocking, it can bound you.

yes nothing is tripping. I has operated without any issue till now.
yeah u r right I will if I can find any other good 600w psu.

buddy as nafu has suggested upgrade to a better psu, your gpu will run fine on the current psu but its not that reliable psu (cm 600)

I dont get it when people buy gpu's worth more than 50 to 90k but when it comes to the psu they choose the most worthless piece of crap available in the market or keep using some old dying useless psu.

Dont get me wrong but get a good brand new psu and i really mean good not some other crap made by thermaltake or zigmatek.

Corsairs AX series are the decent psu's available n the local markets at the moment.If you can afford a 980 then AX psu shouldn't be big deal for you.

You said it, and one more thing people dont consider is display. I have seen people with 980 rocking 60htz 1080p panel whats the point either get 144htz monitor or stay at mid range gpus. Corsair rm are also good.

exactly as @nafu fortold.
cm psu (especially when you havn't mentioned the model) are perceived to be risky ones.
when you have spent a sufficient amount on a GPU then it is NOT wise to save a few thousand on a PSU.
get a solid one.
