Hey, I am planning to buy a home theater for my room and want to connect it with my LCD TV. Please suggest me some models to consider when going for my purchase, i am thinking of buying a sony home theater btw. My budget is around 30k max. And lastly i want to connect it with my xbox 360 so please do consider that as it only support optical input for 5.1 surround.

I also want to finally buy one (for my PS3)... and I'm pretty oblivious as to what kind I should be looking for. So come on guys a little help here please. Be it short reviews, overall experience, where to buy & where not to buy and so on.

and you are obvious about what ... if you are certain of buying a particular product how can we help then, either tell us what is in your mind or give us ijaazat to speak what is in ours... :)

secondly it would be of great help if you tell us what your budget is

thirdly as thread starter said that he has a budget of 30k (no offense but you don't even get a entry level sound system with this budget, if your budget is the same or 5 or 10k plus should look for sony, lg, panasonic, samsung anything will work they all are almost the same...)

but there is one special choice i dont know about the details but if you can find try getting info about logitech z5500 Ive heard good reviews about that system i don't know if it connects with consoles or not but you can ask people in this forum.

dude if u want something that looks fancy... go to the sony center n get a decent 750-850 watt hdmi dvd player with surround.... all the new ones have optical... but if u want bang for buck n i mean serious bang as in crazy loud for cheap price.... do wat i did.... got a yamaha second hand dts (with optical) amp for 6k... 4 8 inch speakers another 6k... a good quality center speaker for 1k and i didn't really need a woofer cause my neighbors already complain abt the bass!!! :p u can have this kick ass setup for under 15k... :D n trust me, it beats the shit out the gay ass home theaters u get in the market.... the ones that say 3000 watt are not more than 300 watt actually :/ it's like the difference in dynamic n static contrast of lcd monitors!! :)

@frostbite
yaar when you talk about sound dont bother to mention sony...yet what you did for yourself was wise but finding a second hand amp (non repaired) is very difficult + finding speakers that match them is even more tiresome. i think he mentioned that he has a budget of 150000 so no need for the hassle buy jbl e90speakers with some good yamaha or harman/kardon amp and rock the party.

@adnanbaig18 around 30 - 32k you are better off with SONY DAV-DZ950, that ll work for you unfortunately I dont see an HDMI in in these shitty home theatres, may be LG?
Honestly for a decent audio system one needs to have about 100,000k+ budget with spec like
yamaha RX-V663/665 or Denon 2310, with Yamaha YST-SW800 or SW1500 Sub, and a complimentary set of speakers from yamaha, JBL, klipsch or other decent speaker system excluding shitty bose. As for wireless out of my experience over years of being an audiophile I would still go for wired speakers. Dont want to go into technological details of wireless audio over 3.2Gigs vs wired interface.

Sorry pal, I know one guy on college road who acts as a middleman for second hand stuff, (very unreliable). Oh forgot about friends corporation in blue area (pure rip offs)
You have to contact abid saeed 03009421494, in my experience he is the guy who is reliable and charges a reasonable price, located on Hall Road Lahore.
There was another guy from karachi but after he cheated my once I decided never to contact him again.
