Need Help!!!

Hey guys,
I want to make a new partition on my 500gb external HDD. Basically i want to have a separate 16gb FAT32 partition on my new WD 500gb passport essential, to play movies directly through my Home theater or a PS3 as it only supports FAT32.
So i wanted to to know the process of how to do this and also please tell that does it void my HDD warranty in any sorts or make my drive corrupt???

use "norton partition magic" to change the file system to FAT32 if you do not want to lose the data it will not affect the hard-disk.

My main concern is that i wanted to know that does a PS3 or the DVD player play from more than one partition or they only support a single partition??????
