Hi guys, recently got my PS2 Slim SCPH-79001 first time modded from a gaming shop and wanted to ask a few questions regarding that.
When I gave the guy my PS2 he told me about 3 modchips:
Flasher : he said it's the best and latest but not compatible with mine
M7 Ultra : he said it's the second best and will install this in mine
M7 : older version of M7 and the cheapest quality
So I naturally went with what he recommended and was compatible " M7 Ultra " and got the PS2 back after a day. Seems to have played all the backup games
except one but I'll come to that later.
I wanted to see myself which chip he had installed and when I opened the PS2 I saw Super 7 in it instead of M7 Ultra which I paid for.
Here are my queries:
1) I know M7 and Super 7 are clones of high-end chips, but is there any difference between these two in terms of quality/features/price??? I checked online
and confirmed that this is the genuine Super 7 - E17 modchip and not a fake one.
2) I got this PS2 from Canada and it says NTFC on it, so after this modchip am I able to play all region games or not???
3) What could be the cause of the 1 game which didn't start out of the 6 I tried, region issue or the disk was corrupt or modchip compatibility??? These are
the backup DVDs not original.
4) I got a few backup DVDs from a friend which seem to have many scratches on them although they all ran fine, is this safe or should I avoid using such DVDs
as they may damage the lense???
5) Can I attach a HDD to my PS2 Slim as well or is that feature only in the fat PS2???
6) What are the two USB slots at the front for??? Can I attach a USB with games/songs/movies and play them???
Any idea guys??? I have already searched the net and this forum for these questions and need further clarification, thanks in advance!
