Need help to test my GPU

hey guys, just need help to test my r9 280x, it keeps losing display and i think its because of my PSU because its more than 2 years old. So just need somebody near in Johar, Karachi to help me test the GPU in their rig.

Since you need help, I'll let it stay in CCC.

2nd, Have you tried the following?

Put another PSU/GPU in your system to see if the same occurs.

If you dont have any means at the moment.

Then, start your computer and see when does it happen.
If you stay IDLE, and it keeps on. Good.
And if you start the game or any GPU intensive program, it shuts down.


Second, what is the nature of your blackscreens,
Is it just Black, unresponsive screen with no choice but to force restart?
Or do does it suddenly restart after you go through any intensive activity?

I'm sorry I did not know where to post this so I just opened up a thread here lol, please feel free to throw this in its proper place if you'd like.

I do not have another PSU/GPU at hand, that's the reason why I was asking for help here.

Ok so the main issue started happening after I finished playing Quantum Break on Ultra which basically baked my GPU everytime I played it, I could literally feel the heat coming out of my rig and temps would easily hit 70-80C. So after a while what would happen is that my display would simply go dark (by going dark I mean lose the signal) and my monitor would start searching for a source.

This would start randomly after a random interval of time, no connection to GPU load at all, I mean I would just be watching a video or just browsing the web or sometimes not even doing something at all and it would still go dark. The GPU would just fail to give display, rest of the computer continued to work normally. Then the interval started to become shorter (like around 5 mins) and now I do not have display at all.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

These are the signs of a going GPU.

can you hear your windows starting up inspite of the black screen?
If so then sometimes, this can also be related to the IO Ports on the back.
Have you tried using DVI or HDMI, different than what you are using right now?

Reconnect your GPU in place, this time with another PSU.
To minimize any mistakes for the testing.
