Need Help Regarding WOW

Alright guys i just downloaded the World of Warcraft.Now i want to ask that can i be able to update my game to latest 2.4 version directly or i have to download and install every patch from v1.0 to 2.4??Help me out of this issue please.

i remember downloading all the patches separately... when u start the game it automatically downloads the path

I'm going to assume you are referring to a legal copy which you plan on playing on blizzard's official servers.

To cut a long story short, you will not need to download and install every patch. But you will have to install multiple patches. WoW bundles patches occasionaly so i'd assume at a minimum you're looking at 1-2 gigs.

I'm guessing it will be one huge patch upgrade from 1.0 -> 2.0 and then another from 2.0 -> 2.4 and then multiple small ones to whatever 2.4xx will bring you to the most recent patch (they often hotfix bugs in major patches).

Here's hoping you have The Burning Crusade OR a few friends who are playing with you. It can get a lilttle lonely otherwise

No i don't have a legal copy i downloaded it.I seen a universal patch with the size of 973 MB and it says that this will upgrade the game from Version 1.0 to 2.4.does it work for me or not??I will play on private servers.

No clue in that regards. But the private server's forums might be a good place to find details.

try logging in with a fake userID and pwd itll automatically start downloading patches!
try it and have u installed Burning crusade?

No i didn't install burning crusade.I just installed the WOW and the automatic download started but it was way to big 1GB and i can't wait so much so now i am downloading the patch 2.3 as my game version is 2.0.So after applying 2.3 i be able to download just 263 MB patch..2.4 wala.

I will download the Burning Crusade but let me play the WOW 1st.i don't know how better it will run on 512 Kb/s Ptcl connection.You have any idea about how much would it lag???

you dont have to go through the pain of downloading if you know some one who already has it isntalled. take a portable hardrive or your laptop to him. Share wthe wow folder on his source PC and copy paste.

thats what i have done over the last 3+ years when i was changing laprops or upgrading PCs or helping friends out with thier corrupted WoW folders.
