Need help from modders(shajeel,muhd86,etc etc)

salam guyz
ok so here is my case
i want to MOD
will be doing it next onth so have to save some money for it.......
here is waht i thought

the two LED fans that i have currently are good for lightning purposes
i will be drilling some holes in the case and placing them on the top of the case(same as cm 690)
will be changing the front big fan and adding 1 more of the led fan and 1 big 120 mm fan...(most probably thermaltake)

now what i want to know is how is this paint?what if i use it to paint the fan that i will be buying?



THIS is the GLOW IN THE DARK PAINT.....colours vary
price 150 rs. (7 sar)

more over if i want to paint the inside of the case black should i use this..(primer or clear coating?)

so what do u suggest


need your opinion for optimum airflow........and need suggestions about fan aand how to mod this rig........

P.S ( i will be adding a cooler master v8 in thsi rig inshallah(will it fit in my casing?)

Primer and clear coat are totally two different things.
Primer is used before painting for better bonding. Its sort of an adhesive.
And clear coat is used after painting for protecting the paint.

It goes like this Priming>Painting>Clear coating.

and The fan on the top should be an exhaust. Not an intake.

first off are u buying black fans to paint or what?

cause what sthe advant of paintinf led fans ?

And do u desire the UV effect or what?

And do u have UV cathodes or Blue ones?


As far as paint goes any acrylic paint is good...just see to it that its weightage is 300cc (ideal)...more is better..but 300 is enough...dont buy lesser ones....

and yeah lord IT said it that PRIMER is a base coat and CLEAR LACQUER paint is for the final coat..( but keep in mind that lacquer will give u a very glossy outlook)

do 3 coats of primer...and let it dry properly ( i wud suggest 2 days minimum to let it completely dry)...and if u can SAND the casing b4 painting that wud be even better and will prevent cracking...just clean the case after sanding and then do primer and then ur desired paint .


and if u want UV effect...then i will suggest better to get FLUORESCENT PAINT...They come in yellow, orange, blue, red , green....on the can its written FLUORESCENT ORANGE... NOT just ORANGE...

and to get the UV effect...u shud paint the thing first WHITE..as in base coat WHIT..and then the UV paint...otherwise good result nai milay ga ...tried and verified


Hope this helps you and other potential modders seeking to mod...these are my little secret tips...hope u reap the benefits...

Oh and about the fan arrangement.....bottom and front shud be intake...and rear and TOP shud be exhaust...no questions asked

here's my 2 cents:

1. since hot air rises, always keep the fans on the top as exhausts and the ones on the bottom as intakes. that makes for a good airflow.
2. judging from the pics, as far as putting in a V8 goes, i think you'll be a little crunched for space because your PSU's very close to the proc heatsink.

im more concerned about the V8's height... the side panel wont close...and if that doesnt close then whats the use of all the fans and stuff. ;S

Hey bro, i read your thread and want to answer your questions nw,
There are two types or paint that glow, one is d glow in the dark paint and as far as i know they dont need any uv lighting to glow. They glow when they absorb any kind of lighting at day time. The flourescent as shajeel bhai said needs uv lighting. In my opinion u shud use d fluorescent ones and put some uv lights in ur case. this will glow more. You can apply it by d procedure Shajeel Bhai said or u can easily apply white/gray primer instead of white base coat. I do d same.
For painting d inside of your case, first of all sand your case with 400 then 600 grit sandpaper. Then apply the first primer coat. Again sand the primer after its dry but do wetsanding with a 800 or 1000 grit sandpaper. Redo dis step 3 times like
400/600 sanding----Primer------800/1000 Wetsanding-------Primer--------800/1000 Wetsanding -------Primer-------800/1000 sanding primer.This way the coats of primer will stick perfectly and then d upcomin coat of paint should be applied after 24hrs or later. Nw apply your desired colour and do d same steps of sanding. give it 20-30 mins to dry. (you can also use a hair dryer ). If u want a really glossy finish then apply 2-3 coats of acrylic laquer after 1-2 days. Dont apply d lacquer immediately after paintin coz it will crack d paint. Between d coats of lacquer again use d sanding technique so dat d lacquer should stick and i highly recommend dis or d laquer wud simply slip sometimes.

Note: Before spray painting put the paint or primer spray cans in hot water. this way d pressure and temperature will increase and droplets of paint wont fall on your paintin area.
Dont use d hairdryer technique for d laquer coat coz it will increase its temperature and as its acrylic it will become wetter instead of dryer.

And yeah bro primer is like undercoat that u apply so dat d paint coat should stick to d surface will acrylic is a kind of clear coat that is for more protection and shine of d final finish.



As far as d V8 is concerned i wud be truthful and say dat i dont know wether it will fit or no. I also want to buy one for ma cousins rig but the size is d main problem. U shud better ask Shajeel bhair more abt it and i think he also answered u.

And ur airflow should also be like Front+Bottom=Intake & Rear+Top= Exhaust.

And damn this reply became really long i hope anyone doesnt think dat i m a physco hahahah.lol

1st of all remove everything from the rig for starters ..

depends on what choice of paint u want , black glossy or uv glossy , personally i would go for uv glossy , either flourecent red or flourcent light orange , both look quite nice as recently a friend did the same thing .

for good air flow yes u can drill on the top and install 2 fans there , i would also 2nd a arcylic side panel window which should also hold 2 80mm fans led type , so 2 fans blowing air out from the top , 1 blowing air in from the front , 2 sids panel fans blowing air out and the rear fan also blowing air out .

or u can reverse the top fans for throing air in , this will also cool down the ram , i have done the same in the haf casing .

but i have now installed 2 mini fans on the cooler dominator 1600 mhz to make then even more cooler .

dont paint the out side of the casing specially on plsatic , i have noticed that it takes a lot of time to paint it and the job in mose cases is not good.

and yeah the v8 will be here two weeks later from pakistan
as here only the n520 is available..
what u say?
go for n520 from ksa or get the v8 from pak?

got the 30x30cm plexiglass from a hardware store. and got the doulbe sided tape....
anu suggestion of the design?
i am thinking of just a simple square design what do u guyz think?
and yeah any more suggstion for cutting the side panel....

here is what i am gonna do
the painter will cut the sides and then with a sanding this sand the side so that they are smooth..then the paint the scracthed part..
and then i will take it home and using double side tape i will stick the glass to the panel?
good enough right?

^ you could go with something like the side window on a CM690 nvidia edition. looks really good. google image up some side window designs and go with what you like.

or if you opt for a simple square cut, make sure the edges are rounded, and not square.

and its good uve covered up the outside of the whole side panel with masking tape.

dude , wire management and case cleaning should be a priority , , u should have painted the inners of the casing as well .

to be honest i do like my case to be black inside as well
but i am really afraid of doing it...
taking the mobo out and placing it in is only my concern and if i go to any computer shop just for touching they take 50sar(1000rs)..
so i am better of with a chromy interior and black exterior
