Need to ask on the downloads.I have downloaded many demos from psn many in which power failure occurred but they were never corrupted when completed..3-4 demos. Then once i was downloading Burnout demo it was interrupted and hence it was corrupted.Since then every demo i download i have to take precautions for any interruption. Now a friend of mine says that he too has downloaded many but NEVER the demo got corrupted. So enlighten me about this....

I recently got in the Resistance2 public beta..now its 2211mb..and it takes ALOT of time to download it,and with all the power failures going around.Dont ask

If its a problem of my connection..im using PTCL..hes using Wateen.

Well, its all about luck. Sometime you get away with it and at other times your archive gets corrupted. I may be wrong but I think this depends on luck, or the type of stuff we're downloading.

^ i'm currently trying very very hard to download wipeoutHD onto my ps3. my ups died on me at 31%, i was thinking i should just screw it and start the download once again. my wateen connection sucks big time, and i might get my ldn connection to start working by tuesday.

anyway, my downloaded games ALWAYS corrupt when the light goes. happened to me with the echochrome demo, happened to me with tekken 5, happened to me 3 times with super stardust HD!

i think maybe it's because the data is compressed and gets saved in packets of a certain size, and if the light goes while that certain packet is being saved to the hard-disk or has not yet been saved, then it goes on to the next packet when the download starts again and thus misses some of the data.

that's just my opinion on it! i'm sure it's wrong because i'm a computer dumb-ass!

If I assume that your downloads can be paused and resumed after wards then my solution is that you buy a small UPS and hook your PS3 to it so if in case light goes out there wont be any problem. I believe they are available at less than Rs.4000 or around it. Hope this is useful.

If any error occurs or electricity fails.Set downloader settings to roll back at least 25Mb for big downloads. There is more chance of data getting lost on wireless then landline. PTCL is way better then wateen.

only for PC
