I totally agree with the point that the data quota should be unlimited or at least greater than 35GB.But the biggest point of Wimax 802.16e is it has the mobility that the previous versions lacked off. Also a wireless communication is more expensive than a wired one.
Hey Mobilink . I got two words for ya : FUCK OFF !!!
No offense, but try to respect a broad band operator that is trying to serve the community.I know that they are quite expensive but try to compare it with Wateen Broad Band tariff rates and service.May be u will change your opinion then :)

They are offering NOTHING that Wateen can not match. Apparently, they kept Wateen as their primary competitor and not other DSL services. Capped packages should become part of internet history now!

yo im using Infinity since March :D
no Abuses will lead to banin limit for me

Apart from limit which i was not expecting tbh <_< it runs like a charm i get full DL speed most of the time ie 61+KB/s on 512 Connection and it does run 24 Hours without failing
ive seen it down 1-2 times a month mostly bcoz of testing and upgrade etc and
unlike Wateen it comes standard with 2 CPEs 1 indoor and 1 outdoor on the roof i get 5/5 signals all the time

Only 1 drawback iz high ping which makes it difficult to play FPS games online

That's the issue of wireless medium, faced by everyone all over the world. But as you said, if peoples actually gets constant 61KB/sec on the 512Kbps connection then IMO it's very good for average home users who are tired of Wateen.

they should have given cheap launch packages to atleast pull some of the wateen crowd away, but i guess with time things will get cheap in the wimax sector, since i heard link dot net is also getting into the wimax act

link dot net is an orascom company just like mobilink so this offering from mobilink is probably what you've been hearing about. Burraq telecom will be the next to introduce wimax in pakistan with motorola as their technology vendor just like wateen.

Burraq telecomm has already commisioned the wimax sites, they are just few months behing their launch, they are coming by the name Wi-Tribe.Soon we will see intense competition between these three Wireless Broadband service providers which will result in cut down in prices as well as better quality service.
Also Orange is coming into the WiMax industry, but they havent started the activity yet....

Instead on focusing on Wireless Connectivity , these people should look into making for higher speeds . Like 20-30 Mbps ...
Wireless does have its advantages
in areas where there r no PTCL Landlines ppl depend on wireless (Wateen) for now as many ppl rnt satisfied with Wateens service we need more Wireless Providers in Pakistan

20 - 30Mbps iz a bit too much dont u think? Wimax setup here can be pushed to only 5Mbps
why not offer cheaper 2Mbps connections?

20-30 Mbps will required a wired structure connectivity which can be attained by fiber optics only. And fiber optic cable laying procedure is damn expensive and requires high priced networking devices in order to operate it.And one more thing,it requires to be laid down 10 feets under ground,so that it remain safe, but here they all go 2-5 feets down, not more than that,So in a country, where there is so much energy crisis and inflation rates,i feel that the coming era is of Wireless comm having high speed fiber optics in the backbone...
