Mcb lite user reviews needed

Hi friends

Everyone must have seen that MCB has relaunched its MCB Lite Account .
I have ordered it , the MCB LITE VISA GOLD card has been delivered but I haven't yet deposited cash in it as I want user responses .

I have a few questions ;
1.Has anyone tried Inter Bank Funds Transfer ? did it give any problems ?
2. Have you used it for online shopping ? amazon.com etc
3.Since I can login without activating . how are Mobile Top-ups ! I have a mobilink number ported to ufone , but MCB says invalid number (whereas my Askari Bank i-net banking easily transfers balance to my ported number) ! When I enter a proper number which is not ported , it proceeds to the next step!

And if its not good , recommend a bank for current account ; FAYSAL or Standard chartered ( consider in mind that I am a student but I can maintain balance , but want to avoid paperwork).

It has given no problems at all. Its as easy as sending an SMS

I haven't used it personally, but a friend of mine who got MCB Lite only for this purpose i.e. Online shopping has tried it and is quite satisfied.

This I think is an initial phase hiccup which can be resolved by simply calling on MCB's Helpline # which is 111-000-622

In my opinion, its the cheapest service out there.. They just charge you for the ATM card which comes with their STARTER package once Annually. 1000/-

Which is hardly Rs. 3 / day.


The cost of an ordinary cheque book of 25 leaves is somewhere between 350 ~ 500 which varies from bank to bank. I think that is about 7 - 8 Rupees per leaf. Plus if we add the time cost of going to the branch this is time saver.

Plus, if you invite your friends and family on LITE, just like we add other users on Facebook, Whatsapp, Viber by sending a simple Invite, the cost of IBFT
(Inter Bank Funds Transfer) will also become Free. MCB isn't charging the user on the number of transactions. Which in other words is FREE :spiteful:

You DO realize that you are answering to a more then couple month's old thread? There is already another quite comprehensive thread about MCB Lite here and If you search you will find that almost all of the questions about MCB Lite and its service are already answered there.
