[SOLVED] Laptop goes to sleep while Im working on it

Well the title says it. While Im working on my laptop it suddenly goes to sleep. This happens at randoms, sometimes 30 mins after startup, sometimes hours after startup. Has some experienced the same? And what can I do to fix this?

Turn off "Put to sleep" option from control panel.

Its sleep or auto shutdown? You should turn off from advanced settings.

Then the problem is most probably with temps. Monitor its temp with programs like CPUZ and check if its over heating.

Temps are well within the 40-50 range. I have even done a clean windows install and that too didnt solve the problem

Remove the battery and keep the laptop plugged in and then see whether it happens.

It is idle temp or temperature during load? Check temp during load also can you post screen shot of advanced power settings.

The laptop is under similar load all day, i.e chrome running, the Temps are under that load. There isn't any other type of load.

Another thing I've noticed is that it only happens when I'm using the keyboard or mouse, if I watch something for 3 4 hours it won't go to sleep but if I start using the keyboard or mouse it happens.

Settings are fine. By keyboard and mouse you mean external K/M?

Also for PrintScreen you can use Print Screen command on keyboard lols. Its simple and efficient.

Hahahaha, I know but I was using the forum in Tapatalk so taking a picture was more convenient.

No I mean the keypad and the TouchPad of the laptop, nothing external.

[MENTION=131462]moizadil[/MENTION] No the sleeping thing is something else. Not related to this. But the bad thing is that your HDD is dying. Developing bad sector and sooner or latter it will stop working.

Coming back to topic. I think there is some problem with your windows power plan. It seems like corrupt. What is your OS?

Got the laptop 2 years back and it came with win 8 and the problem appeared first there. Then I downgraded to win 7 and it went away for almost 2 years, last month I opened up the laptop to clean the fan ducts and the problem started again while I was on 7, then I upgraded to win 10 last week and the problem is still not going away.

I think there is some problem with hardware then. Any loose cable etc. Since you mentioned you opened up the laptop for cleaning purpose.

[MENTION=1311]Majawar[/MENTION] thank you for all the help, last night I took out the battery and blew air into the connections (they were clean already) and put it back. Since then I've used it for 10 hours and that problem hasn't occurred again.
