So got these off AliExpress. The KZ ZN1 are dual-driver earphones with an inline amp. For $38, shipped, it's a great deal.

Pros:

- Awesome sound for the money. Beats all my existing in-ears. Such clarity in mids. Such nice sibilant highs. Such bass. I've never had bass-head level earphones which are mid-head and high-head as well. The sound is just awesome. Freq range is very nice. And bass is so much, they push themselves out of my ears on high volume (via amp). Even on the loudest volumes (via my Xonar>FiiO), these just don't break a sweat. And the dual-driver thing... is just awesome. Soundstage is so damn nice.
- The package. Clips, extra tips and everything else you'd need.
- The price. Just awesome for the money.
- Cables are just awesome. Thick, and audiophile quality. I think the cables themselves must be worth $15.

Cons:
- They work and sound great in the passive mode, but I can't give them 5 out of 5 just yet. Amp was DOA. As such, I couldn't get the amp working at all, and that is part of the bad experience I've had. More of a transaction thing, and could be the merchant issue. Things would've been different if it worked completely ok.
- Bulky. Wires are short, and the inline amp module is pretty have an inconvenient. Even all the more so since my module is dead anyhow.

Recommendations:

Get the ZN1 Mini or the ZS1. Passively, they're all great. I recommend these too but then if your amp unfortunately is DOA for any reason, don't blame me. Still, look into others. For the sound, they just don't disappoint.

Depends on the kind of equipment used. Some headphones can take it and don't mess up the other frequencies. Others mess things up. It does vary from headphones to headphones. Good headphones don't. If you're not a basshead, many good headphones (Audio Technica, Beyer Dynamics, some for sure, V-Modas, Pioneers, Panasonics and bunch of others) already have enough bass without you having to add any more, and without compromising the mids or the highs. That would be stupid and sheer Basshead stuff, which is better left off to some JVCs and many Beats by Dre.

Not these though. These are pretty pretty nice. With loads of bass, you can still hear the mids and highs. And because these are dual driver, you can kind of sense that most of the lows are coming from the driver behind you, and the front one is optimally working on all three without bloating anything. They're crystal clear really. They deliver all frequencies optimally.
