Kingston Datatraveler 101 16gb

So I just bought this flashdrive for a friend, they are going quite cheap right now. And although my friend just wanted it for storage the speed surprised me. It was awfull! 2.5mbps max! Are cheap 16gb flash drive suppose to be this slow or this is really really slow ? Anyone recently bought a 16 giger corsair sony transcend ? How's your speed ?

On how much u have bought this flashdrive...and what was the name of the Drive when u 1st time Put in ur USB port of PC...

The name and all are obvious things which I checked and were fine. Believe me if this one is fake, so are all the ones being sold here or at least this particular model.

I don't have the flash drive with me but the box is normal with the barcode sticker and all, 5 years pop warranty.

Its probably a fake... unless you were trying to transfer some files which at times slow down the data transfer speeds...
My dad had gotten conned into buying a fake one as well... original packing , sticker and everything... the guy even gives you a warranty but you can tell the build quality is rubbish... I had to go tear the guy a new asshole and got my money back... don't buy such things from these random retailers... galaxy computers is the way to go... thanks to their delivery service it makes life alot easier as well... a 16gb I think is for around 1800 these days...

Like I said these are obvious things for an average computer user. Tried different files from different partitions. Tried it even on my laptop. Same results.

Also everyone is selling these kingston 16gigers for 850-800rs czone/galaxy included. There are even some transcend and sony ones going around the same price. But galaxy doesn't have both in stock only czone does. Only corsair is expensive.

I've seen em through the box and didn't notice any difference in build quality. I could be wrong though.

And it wasn't a random retailer I could even change the flashdrive and get a corsair for 1200rs but my friend doesn't mind with keeping it. So I just wanted to create this thread for self aware and if anyone who recently got a flashdrive could post their results.
