AoA everyone,

I'm currently doing my A2's and want to do my bachelor's degree from a foreign uni, but the problem is I really can't afford anything more then the living expenses in a foreign country for 4 years. I wanna know if there's ANY decent foreign uni that gives full scholarship or financial aid to international students. So far all the US uni website I've checked out only offer aid to their own nationals (which is understandable; nobody would want a Paki leeching their funds :( ).

Preferably I wanna know of any uni in the USA or UK that offers this, but if that's not possible then I'll consider other places like Canada, Australia etc. too. For the record I got straight A*'s in O levels, straight A's in my AS level result, and have also participated in various co-curricular activities like voluntary work, creative writing competitions etc so I think my application MIGHT be convincing enough to get a scholarship/financial aid, but that's only IF it's being offered in the first place.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I'm talking about engineering unis here btw :D

yea there are uni that give a 100% scholarship...even more.
thing is they give you only for the first year and you have to maintain a certain level of academic performance

i dont know exactly which unis but back when we were applying, we heard of all the offers ppl got and 80% were pretty common...

personally i wouldnt recommend you going to us/uk/canada unless you have a bit of breathing space financially, but if its a university of your dreams of something like that, dont let me stop you
you should try unis like university of nottingham which have campusesnear by in malaysia/china, the offer great student exchange programs, and you can get to travel from campus to campus across countries if you want. its relatively closer and cheaper...

there are other such unis with campuses in dubai and australia, do your research...ask your teachers and stuff, contact student counselors...they will be able to help you better on this, they do this for a living.

im assuming you've already been to one of the dawn education expos and have tons of buisness cards, if not google can probably help

Very very difficult to find a decent university in UK or US which would give you full scholarship. Maybe canada but US/UK, no chance.

Canada doesnt offer 100% scholarships

and they have a very limited number of scholarships for international students even less than US and UK

i would suggest you to try Honk Kong University of Science and Technology. 4 of my friends went to it with 100% scholarship this year . All of them had straight A*s in their A levels so you need to work ur ass off . its amongst the top universities

UK and Canada main tou full rides ka scene off hai but you can get a full ride in the US.. provided that you are a very strong and unique applicant. All the top unis (almost) offer financial aid to internationals (though if you apply for it your chances of admission are really reduced).. there are 6 need blind unis that dont take this factor into account and if you are good enough then you'll get in and your need will be met.. these are Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Amherst ( and 2 others.. google it ) .... Also I suggest taking a look at the liberal arts colleges in the US since they are quite liberal with their financial aid packages...

Kay, I gave this a bit of thought, and I figured that even if I DO manage to nail a 100% scholarship, I'll need to maintain exceptional performance throughout all 4 years otherwise they'll cancel it, right? And if that happens I'll be COMPLETELY screwed. I'm thinking a much better idea would be to get into NUST or GIK and then get a masters degree from abroad later, what do you guys think?

Thanks for the help, still open to input btw.

P.S. I will look into Hong Kong University though, I'm assuming living expenses in countries like China and Malaysia are much lower then in UK or Canada, if that's the case I might be able to go even if I only get a 75% scholarship or something along the lines of that. Anyone have any info about what Far-East is like in terms of scholarships/financial aid to foreign students?

oh yes I was just going to mention that... try HKU.. your grades are good enough you definitely have a shot at getting a 100% scholarship there.. and even if you dont.. its really cheap ( I think around 17 lakhs total.. per year or something like that ) =)

good luck man
