I got an ipad 3 yesterday, so its on ios 5.1 right now and i want to update it to 6.1 OTA but i have put it to download the update but it says "estimating time remaining" and doesnt tell me the expected time and I think its just showing as if it is downloading the update but the blue line on the update page is stuck since 1PM. Help?

Restore it to factory settings and try again or simply do it via iTunes.

Download the software via your PC and then install it using your PC

This was the reason why i wanted to update OTA because the 1.1GB IPSW download on PC is difficult for me. However, i just restarted it and now it says that 1hr remaining

Dont do it OTA. You might face issues while jailbreaking.

There are no problems in updating through OTA, I jailbreaked 2 iPhone 5's and 1 iPhone 4S all were updated over OTA.

I think AT&T one costs 7k. Not sure about others, have no idea of iPhone unlocking.

Bought a 4S locked to Vodafone UK. Unlocked it here for 4k. (I don't know if that's cheap or I got ripped off). I know the shopkeeper so..

Thanks guys for your input. One more thing, is it wise to get a locked iPhone 4S and get it unlocked or just get a factory unlocked iPhone 4S? If I buy a 4S for 33k locked and get it unlocked for even around 5k that's still 3k less than a factory unlocked 4S.

If you're low on money, a SU iPhone 4S is the way to go.

But FU is preferred, no need to unlock again when the software is upgraded.
