i have a western digital my book which is an external HD its 160GB and its an IDE it just requires a power adapter and a USB drive ... you can install an OS on it , partition it etc i have installed 7 on this and i can boot it too , let me know if your interested ill give it to you for 2500 given that ill bear shipping ok ?
